Oh man, I love this album. It is well-balanced and thought out. Little Simz perfectly builds feelings with her lyrics and emotions in the vocals. And the beats! They perfectly highlight the key moments of the tracks. I'm very impressed.
Great debut album. Conscious, refined, with poignant melodic lines and vocals.
An impressive concept album on which I heard a lot of work and passion. Each listening takes me to a different, beautiful world for an hour.
Fontaines D.C. takes proven musical motifs and adds a pinch of themselves to them. It works surprisingly well. On a few numbers I miss a stronger ending, they leave me wanting instead of satisfied. However, the album as a whole deserves to be appreciated and remembered.
It's a shame that any summaries of the year skip JID and his great album. There is not a single extra minute here, nothing that I would like to skip, even after the tenth or twentieth listening. Buying this album in its entirety.
