It's not bad, but the commercial synth-pop sound alone isn't enough to keep the whole album interesting the whole way through
a couple decent songs on here, but the album is just SO bloated. If Uzi cut like 75% of the songs to remove all the repetitive filler, Pink Tape would be so much better, even if I still wouldn't fully get behind some of the sound choices
It's goal was to be solid ambient, Glitch Pop music and I think it succeeded. I think the airier and more experimental elements verge on being too much, but are ultimately balanced quite well. Also, there's an ASMR segment in the middle?
Still got some pretty neat vibes, but it just lacks so much of memorability and character of Rodeo. A lot of the songs felt sort of aimless and draggy, but the album has a pretty solid feature list
the psychedelic production is super cool and very captivating. The hooks are so catchy and full of energy that I don't need to pay attention to the lyrics, which honestly, are actually pretty good for the most part. I feel like the heights of Travis' unique sound on Rodeo just haven't unfortunately been reached since
Definitely one of Death Grips more experimental projects (which is saying a LOT). It's maybe a bit of a hard sell at first, but it definitely still has some appeal
Every song is bursting with so much personality it's CRAZY. I could probably attempt to twerk to just about every song on this album to varying levels of success. Honestly, if this album didn't include Downward Spiral and Get Hi, it might just be perfect
Some good beats and pretty solid rap performances, but a little unremarkable otherwise. A lot of nerdy/comic type references I personally thought were neat, but I see a significant corny factor to them
Some darker vibes on here, similar to Doris. The emotional aspects of Doris aren't as heavy here, but it's still got great lyrics and Earl's flow that I haven't quite made up my mind on yet
They popped their Irish vajayjays off on this one. Joshua Tree has this grand, sweeping, sound that really makes quiter moments pack such a punch. The album felt like it flew by despite the decent runtime because each song just feels so complete and none of them felt skippable
One of, if not the album I've experienced the most unadulterated joy listening to. It's so hard not to have the fun that De La Soul so obviously had making this album. One of the only albums that I've listened to that I could describe as "goofy". From the amazing production, super creative and effective samples, to the charming lyrics, everything just "works" in a way it probably shouldn't as much as it does.
While not quite as memorable to me as Bowie's other hit albums, Aladdin Sane still brings a lot to the table. The instrumentation is top notch, and I think it still carries that special Bowie flair
The first Beatles album I've listened to from start to finish. There's definitely a lot to like about this one. It's got this groovy feel to it, backed by some really varied and smooth instrumentals. I wasn't absolutely floored or anything, but definitely some pretty good stuff
The fact that I even listened to this project is just crazy, but I thought it was pretty alright at best
Warm, sunny sound, but not the most memorable of Gorillaz' projects. I want Tranz injected into my bloodstream, though
dreamy, breathtaking journey that somehow is still pushing today's boundaries despite being made in the 80's
I'm not sure if it's a conscious choice, or if it's just how he sounds but I find Baby Keem's rapping voice to be so annoying and grating. Paired with some kind of week lyrics, this album just kind of exudes amateurism, despite some very high profile features
