Why tf did she have to go the nu-metal route? Easily the least forward-thinking music she's made, however catchy.

Ski Mask the Slump God is a conundrum. For a rapper whose voice is this versatile, being able to sing/rap/scat/squawk/ad-lib/chant/shout anything and make it all seem purposeful, the assembly of sounds backing him is not as interesting. Stokeley is the rare rap project nowadays where the rapper's personality outshines the production. That being said, Ski Mask more than holds up his end of the bill.

Pusha-T: I hands down have the best rap album of the year that's under 30 minutes.

Here to offset all the inflated ratings from the old heads.

Across an album where they try their hand at seemingly every sub-genre within reach (including Soundcloud rap, riddle me that), The 1975 have crafted a modern day rock opus full of relevant topical lyrics. It's not perfect -a few songs would be better off with a shorter runtime or not being included altogether- but you can tell that Matthew Healy and Co. are not afraid to fail here and in doing so, they come out the other end with their best album by a mile.

You absolutely cannot knock the guy for the new direction he’s going. As scatter-brained as Testing was, “Sundress” builds on the non-rap influence of that album. Although this nod is as direct a nod to Tame Impala as Testing was to Frank Ocean, it’s still more catchy and daring than the song it’s sampled from.

I swear to GOT if this site loses popularity it'll be due to wh*te men coming on here hyping up noise and post punk albums that aren't even that special 🤣 🤣

This band is, quite literally, incapable of making a good album.

Approaching her fourth decade of relevance, Robyn crafts a warm, dance-informed pop album that is among the year's best. Instead of head-pounding dance pop, Honey is an album with production that's groovy yet subtle: likely to leave the listener moving from start to finish almost effortlessly.

At the end of the day, Quavo has a bunch of the rap industry's top producers on speed dial and they do come through here. However, he doesn't have much to say over these 19 tracks. Almost two years on and Culture remains the Migos' defining body of work.

I talked with Chief and he told me this was it.

You b*tches will reach so far just to give a boring popular "band" a good review. Rock is dead. The setup of a "band" is dead. nobody cares. Next.

Lil Wayne's seen tough times the last 8+ years, and you would almost think he didn't have any good music left in him. However, Llil Wayne progresses on his recent work in The Carter V in the best way a rapper in the late stage of his career can: by looking back instead of forward.

If y'all really start the "Logic fell off" mess.... he was never on. He was never good. His praise came from being white passing and sounding white and being "lyrical" ("lyrical" here meaning, well his beats don't sound good so we're forced to listen to his rapping). His lyrical content is neoliberal as can be and he can't really seem to grasp macro-level problems that don't concern him so let's see hmmm.. he's bad in every way and always has been.

On this not-talked-about-enough album, Rico Nasty asserts herself as one of the filthiest rappers to breakout this year. Reminiscent of the crowd-riling aggression of circa 2010 Waka Flocka Flame and Odd Future, Rico Nasty spits loudly, as if yelling, over beats that regularly match her aggression with warped guitars ("Countin' Up", "In the Air", "Rage"), forming an album that's somewhat of a punk-trap hybrid.
