This was the first vinyl I ever got, thought it was different release from the band but was still very pleased with my experience on vinyl.
For a new band, despite how rough it is, there is something promising here. The singer kinda reminds me of Candace from Walls of Jericho.
Wasn't expecting to like this as much as I do, it's pretty smooth and relaxing, an enjoyable listen.
I'll refrain from giving this any number rating until I listen to it a few more times, but on first listen, this is terrible.
I really struggled to give this anything above a 55 but there is a few good songs on here.
Mathcore is not my favorite genre, probably not even in my top 50 if I'm being honest, but Dillinger is my shit. One of my favorite bands ever, and this album is largely the reason for that. Every song is memorable from front to back due to either the choruses, which are catchy as fuck - even with the wacked out lyricism of Greg Puciato, or the thrashy, unpredictable mathcore riffs. Every song succeeds at keeping my focus whenever one comes on (with the exception of Crutch Field Tongs), or ... read more
Fantastic production, songwriting, and flow for the album, technically should have a higher rating from me but personally, I don't really think most of the album is replayable other than a few songs.
This is a goddamn great song, no idea why it wasn't on the album
I had a bad feeling about this album since the first single, and it's exactly what I thought it was going to be. Not great, not bad, just disappointing and really nothing to write home about. Some of the songs are really good but there's nothing completely different about any one song. Everyone keeps talking about how "all over the place" this album is but I don't think anyone actually understands something being "all over the place" because every song on this ... read more
My rating is biased due to me growing up on this album in high school.
An album so ahead of its time, you can hear its influence throughout all the years of metalcore and deathcore. This album fucking slaps.
Not the first song I would expect from them after "Chicken Bones" but they still have a unique sound to them. I have no idea what it is but something clicked when I first saw the video.
Not exactly the most popular choice in their discography but, if you like KSE's very melodic style, this album is definitely for you. For me, I can turn on just about any KSE album and be satisfied, however this album has some of my most played songs by KSE. The regular version of this album is very underrated, however this special edition takes the record to a new level with the additions of Blood Stains and Slave to the Machine.
I consider myself to have really good ears for metalcore, but when I found YSD originally with "The Process of Grief" I knew that this band was going to be good. If you would've asked me then, I probably wouldn't have said that their first LP would be an AOTY contender, but here we are. "My Gnawing Pains Will Never Rest" is an unrelenting, emotion-driven melodic masterpiece in metalcore, few bands pack the punch Your Spirit Dies brings on their two EPs and they ... read more
After listening to Glassjaw so often the past few months, this album has grown on me significantly, every song on here bangs and there's almost nothing bad I could say about this album
The first song and last song make it worth the listen, but the rest is just pretty ok. I LOVE "You Think You're (John Fucking Lennon)"
Stonebreaker and It Is That Way should've been what most of the album sounded like, way too much of this album felt like filler, and straight bored me to death.
