Well, I hope to make it right this time. First, the first impression in this is the characteristic sound, is like compend of not just a place but an era, a sphere of music that resides in the UK. In a weak comparison, some parts in the production the mix of voice, guitar, and backtrack sounds like The clash, other parts remind me a little to the smiths, and there are guitars that remind me The who, is maybe a simple vision general but the point is not the references maybe nay the result and the result is an album that talks about a place but represents much more. I remember the voice of Jake Bugg in their first album so young and trembling just like the verse on my generation of the who, and that's what I mean, the sounds of Fountaines brings to you to another place and another time but in a fresh way. I see this as an effort to show to the world the best part of you and is a feeling that I can compare to other contemporary punk bands (Idles, Parquet Courts, Jeff Rosenstock, etc.) The real "Post" something, a glad way to reborn, a responsibility to the music, I would like to see more good efforts like this.

Nonsense. They are Irish. This album is about Dublin City. Nothing English about this album.

Probable that EdFruscley's foreign and English isn't his first language. Also, I imagine to certain cultures the lines between Irish and English music would seem very blurred especially within the same genre. It'd be better to take the opportuinty to educate him on this without being condescending. The guy's trying and It'd be sad to see him put off.

Thank you, and you're right, my English is not good at all. But in fact my comment goes in order to the sound, how I perceive the English music and a lot of the people does. Gracias mijo por defenderme y sé que son de Irlanda pero el sonido es muy característico, las portadas se ve que definen su cultura y estuve mal en generalizar pero pues no soy profesional saludos desde México.

y'all stop being a stoop to Ed's review to this LP tho. at least he gave a high rating and he was just trying to express his opinions. point of views/opinions doesn't literally mean they are all 100% facts.

While they aren't from the UK (don't worry, I know you've been told this enough times already), this is a good review and I do see your comparisons with other punks bands from the UK. Personally, this album just wasn't as bold as the latest Idle's LP. It had some high points, but most of if was just alright to me.
