definitely an improvement on Ventricle 1, but that's a really low bar to set. the production is usually half decent if not a little basic, but the lyrics are so corny all the time. julie bergan has a good eye for powerful hooks tho, so at least she has that going for her. Commando is the only exception to this; it's an absolute banger and is near flawless. i'm just disappointed it's surrounded by these stinkers.

this album is both surprising and disappointing. the songs she chose to release as singles are not the best in my opinion (with the exception of Warrior and Envious) and Body Pump was a poor choice for a lead single. on some tracks, her vocals are so soft and smooth and on others (see Get Paid and basically every song at the end of the album) they're so weak and almost scratchy. i was actually pleasantly surprised by the quality of the first half of the album, with really bouncy production and ... read more

i was really impressed by this album. PVRIS has always been the best band on the rock scene imo since rock died in like 2003 but Lynn Gunn's songwriting and the production are just astounding and can truly be heartbreaking at times. PVRIS just keeps getting better and better

best tracks: all of them!
worst tracks: Use Me only because i don't agree with the addition of 070 Shake

wafia never disappoints. i'm really impressed by the lyrics on this ep, they're just very fun songs to listen to, even the sadder ones. my only qualms are with some of the production choices, specifically the post-chorus on "Flowers & Superpowers", the backing vocals on "Butterflies", and the bouncy electronic style of "Good Things". i am also just a bit disappointed that wafia isn't making the same dreamy pop she started out with, but i am nonetheless still ... read more

this is a decent comeback for ella, tho her vocals are not that dazzling, some of her hooks are pretty basic (see L.O.V.(e.). and Dreams), and the production doesn't blow me away. the songs are still catchy and fun but low-key in a guilty pleasure way. also i am questioning why this is a whole EP when it is only 4 songs and 3 of them had already been released as singles. why not throw in at least 2 more new tracks to make this worthwhile? just seems half-assed in that regard.
