I mean… at least it's better than any song off of their horrible "Darker Still" album, but god that chorus falls extremely flat
“Descent Into Madness” is a somewhat annoying and overproduced deathcore EP that, just like Enterprise Earth’s previous works, includes a lot of djent instrumentation in it. The moments of this EP that aren’t hard to sit through genuinely have dynamic guitar riffs, which is a shame because most of it has guitar parts made up of these repetitive djent chugs that all sound the same. It also doesn't help that the band on here failed to write a vocal hook, refrain, or ... read more
What a crazy collab. JVB and Rebecca Black play off each other really well.
"HABITUAL OFFENDER" by SPY is an absolutely brutal and crushing hardcore punk EP that doesn't mess around at all with its 10 minute runtime
It's unfortunate that this Knocked Loose and Damaged Goods Split EP, with its energetically memorable performances, is brought down by its extremely poor mixing
This collab between The Weeknd and Playboi Carti feels like it’s missing something to have it amount to something special. The beat is just solid, both Carti’s and Abel’s vocal parts are pretty serviceable, and it’s missing a satisfying climatic payoff that would really have it leave a strong lasting impression.
oh my god... ew.
Genuinely Falling In Reverse’s most disgusting song to date. This makes me want to take a shower with bleach.
This track manages to sound massive and hit hard while including a lot of melodic vocal parts that don't take away from its sound and instead add to its overall energy
A pretty fun psychedelic rock album that brings together influences from other artists and bands like Tame Impala, Led Zeppelin, TOOL, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
This one honestly hurts, but I have to do it.
This Underoath album… is NOT GOOD.
I believe it's a bit unreasonable to expect a band that's been around for a long time to make and release a new project that is equal to their best work. Especially when said band hit their peak more than a decade ago. I haven't really been a big fan of the past couple Underoath projects, but I didn't really feel the need to criticize them. I thought I was at peace with this band not ... read more
I like how all the singles for HYPERYOUTH have been a great time while being stylistically different from each other
Missouri Executive Order 44 and Usurp Synapse come together to take the word ‘intensity’ to new and addictive levels on this Split EP
“Outrage! Is Now” by Death From Above is an alternative rock album that kicks ass while having a tracklist that doesn’t sound like one track copy and pasted a bunch of times.
I think one factor that makes this album work well is that some tracks on here to me sounded like pastiches of other bands, and I think the band pulled it off respectfully instead of sounding like a hollow imitation. For example, the instrumentation and overall progression of “Freeze Me” is ... read more
The Acacia Strain on “Failure Will Follow” has the band take their sludgier side of their sound to punishing new heights. I would've liked the band to have tied together its melodic and noisy moments more tightly.
“Step into the Light” by The Acacia Strain may be somewhat repetitive, but it is consistently hard hitting and better produced than most deathcore albums
Car Bomb demonstrate that they haven't lost their technical prowess through their mathcore infused djent music in the 6 year gap of not releasing music on the "Tiles Whispers Dreams" EP. Personally, I would've loved to hear this extended into an album with more tracks that have the level of quality on par with the songs on the EP.
This single is Chappell Roan's strongest pop ballad to date with its clever lyrics and powerful vocal deliveries
