A very wild and intense death metal track, with some great production from Kurt Ballou of Converge
I actually wanted to like this track, but I unfortunately didn't. Not only did I find the lyrics of the song to be not good, but the over the top vocal performance prevents the lyrics from coming across as sad or depressing. Instead they come across even more silly than they already are.
I don’t want anyone to feel attacked. If you love this song don’t feel discouraged from my disdain of it. However, I’m extremely perplexed at the people who are listening to this and are calling it "unique." There's thousands of songs that have these same bland breakdowns. It's hard to find screamo music that is this emotionally impactful and has this much variety.
Every member of Touché Amoré provides a performance that is full of human spirit. Even though “The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons” has a bit of idle songwriting in the middle of its tracklist with meh choruses and instrumentals that are just serviceable, it still is a solid garage punk album from The Hives with some great tracks
It’s amazing how a rock song is able to sound this cinematic and unworldly through dissonant harmonies and occasional touches of orchestral instruments

"The instrumentals accompany the lyrics more properly on dark sun than this album. Like the instrumentals in Pale Moonlight are so dumb because it has lyrics about someone (potentially Rory) 'dancing with the devil' to where it's harming them, and it sounds like a radio rock song meant to motivate people. Like shouldn't the song sound sad or at least off putting?"

Like with Parallel about his father passing away, or with Paper Hearts about Rory sharing that he has been so overwhelmed by the weight of the world that he has a suicidal thought about dying in a car crash"
