It’s what modern metalcore should sound like. This record offers little new in terms of creativity but it delivers and barely has weak spots.
At this point it’s more important that Metallica enjoy themselves than whether we enjoy listening to their new stuff. It’s mid though. It has some sick riffs that made me headband but otherwise it has little to offer. Kill’em All with softer vocals where a harsher tone would fit better. The main issue with 72 Seasons is that it’s so long it gets boring and has a ton of filler material.
Reminds me of Daughters in the way it creates such a disturbing and menacing soundscape. I am really impressed, might be among the best records of the year (and it is as of now).
Wow, never heard of Liturgy, never expected to hear glitch black metal (I know they call it transcendental but it's really what it is). 93696 is really difficult to digest and needs more listen to truly appreciate but it's marvelous how much stuff is mixed into this record. A very ambitious effort that delivers on its promise most of the time.

Hello my friend, I'm thinking of compiling a community list titled "If Albums Were Movies" where we basically find an album that's similar to a film in some type of way... For instance, "GKMC" reminds me of "Boyz In The Hood". They both take place in LA neighborhoods and both pieces portray the struggle of young black men growing up in a tough environment ripe with issues of poverty, violence, gang culture, and highlights the struggle to succeed against the pressure to assimilate... if you have any suggestions, let me know
