I think part 2 & 3 of the track is the saving grace here, because whatever that synth lead on the first few minutes here does not work at all. Way too repetitive for it's own good.
William's attempt at making techno is very interesting. Speedy yet dark and moody as all heck. But that BAGOBOY ALL NIGHT LONG voice sample on Indoors can fuck right off. It's so goddamn annoying.

Bevan's dive into synth-based ambient is pretty nice sounding, but not much else than that. The subtle beats(?) and the voice bits on Young Death is pretty cool, though.

Claustro: A hyperactive, albeit quietly creepy clubby goodness, also I want more of that outro. — 83
State Forest: First ever Burial ambient I've listened and so far, I'm impressed. It goes by a lot quicker than I expect. — 90
So back when this first came out, I was pretty lukewarm on it. I'm not a huge fan of remixes like this when artists just bring random artists to just be shoved into a song without any care or attention.
Little did I know that EARTHGANG is one of Hugo's favorite artists and boy does it show. I have no idea who EARTHGANG is and their music, but their flows fits so well into an already excellent song from the album. Also I love how the "We'll take it to the top" just seemlessly blends ... read more

i got nostalgic of this song and the Nurture announcement all of the sudden. it literally just happened more than a year ago. how did i get this feeling? how did i get here?
i remember how excited i was when he announced that he's gonna be releasing a new album. it's been a long time since Worlds came out, and Madeon has just returned with Good Faith, surely that Porter would be back under his name too, right?
that day has come and that day was a great day. i remembered ... read more

this thing is exactly 10 minutes long and it's pretty insane how Max & co. had managed to keep it interesting in such a lengthy runtime.
the progression is absolutely insane, Max and [i have no idea who, but i swear there's another vocalist on the chorus] vocals are excellent, it's just a good vibe all the way through.

i think this track really shows that Devon's mostly raw voice really works on a more chill, soothing track like this. it reminds me of "The fish song" a lot and i kinda like that. also, that key change tho.
it's a bit too short, unfortunately, i wish that they get something more out of that buildup and the intro, because the production on those are quite excellent.
it's good, but could use some more time to ... read more

FUCK YOU ALL FOR NOT TELLING ME THIS
alright, now that's out of my chest:
what's this, a synthwave Mitski track? she's really changing the gears with her new LP here, and i love it!
and yeah, it totally works! i would say that it's not as good as her first single, but man, it would be a lie if i said that i won't be excited for the new album.
yet another excellent, but short preview for Devon's next project?
this time we have the harsh rock instrumentation off of "fishmonger" combined with the glittery sounds from their previous EPs (for example, the "character development!" EP). and it bangs.
i honestly can't wait for whatever comes next, because, dang these tracks have been so short :(
I feel that tracks like this is going to be timeless. The simplicity really shines thru so well, Oyeme's vox fits well with the bare productions, and the climax is satisfying as fuck. Oh, and the storytelling is excellent, I think.
Keep an eye out for this guy, he's going big soon.
