Found this on AOTY and I really love the sound of this album. Something about the spacey atmosphere made me fall for it quick and hard. This album deserves to be heard, if you're bored not sure what to check out, this one has a huge vouch

Consistently great experience, but not one I see myself returning to a ton. Some songs drag on (to me) quite a bit and the final product isn't always worth the wait (to me). A big fan of the overall sound, but length of some tracks drag on and leave me more bored by the end than impressed

Pretty groovy. Some casual Kaytranada summer-y beats with smooth, sometimes off-putting Aminé vocals. Good summer album, with a few bangers to come back to. Falters in the second half, but in the beginning, rocks pretty damn hard. Not to be played in any and all scenarios, but when it works it works well

Beautiful album. Great angelic vocals from Sampha paired with interesting instrumentals wrapped around a thorough, confined concept. A lot more enjoyable to get through than his last release and while I still feel it on occasion, the feeling of songs dragging on far past their time allotment isn't nearly as strong here. Really nice listen and something to come back to for another 23 years until the next Sampha album.

Solid entry for the emo rap sub-genre. Debut album from Juice WRLD sees great potential with a knack for flows and hooks and a great voice, but stale lyrics and instrumentals, alongside plenty of generic elements in each song. This creates a lack of identity for the album and a stale experience throughout much of the album, with nothing separating each song from the previous. Some standouts for sure but previous statements reign true for a majority of this thing.

It's what you expect to get, juice Wrld freestyling on melodic hip-hop beats. Some decent takeaways like The Bees Knees, 10 Feet or Make Believe, but generally a very bloated, boring listen. All due respect to him, but I really wish we got to see an album that Juice put time, care and effort into, not just freestyling off the dome whatever lyrics on whatever beat then releasing a tape of his personal favourites. But alas, here we are. Juice wrld's final antemortem album, and the last one I will ... read more
Super consistent and impressive album from Saint JHN. He manages to carve out a rather unique sound among the bloated trap scene. Unfortunately, a consistent trap sound for an entire 43 minutes causes some songs to be throwaways or just worse versions of existing tracks. Trimmed down; or more focused and varied, I think Saint JHN has the capability for something amazing, but this is a pretty damn good step

Reminds me of the previous, but less polished and unique. Saint JHN leans too much into the mainstream hip-hop sound on this one, seemingly forgetting how he was able to sound unique in previous releases. It's still a fun listen and has a couple standouts but doesn't hold the same value or quality as his last 2 albums. Not the greatest, but still hopeful for the future of Saint JHN, so long as he's able to refine his sound and find more of an identity. Quite the intriguing vocal performance at ... read more

It's good. Really good. Groovy, laid back smoking music. Smino at his best on this album in my opinion
Not at all what I've come to expect from Danny Brown. Somber, introspective, toned back and calm. Some time with this album and I don't find myself really holding this album in high regards. I expected the bombastic, exciting man of the past, came out with this and I'm not mad, but I don't really know how to feel about it. It's good, no doubt but doesn't hold the value of his other work in my opinion.

Super fun short project. Only 22 minutes, but can't say i desire more. Fits in where it needs to, does its job and gets out.
Summer radio vibes, casual fun rapping from Vince, super enjoyable throughout
Not a highlight in A Boogie's career for me. It's so damn bloated, you could cut more than half of the songs off this album, as I think they provide pretty much 0 value to the overall experience. That being said even if that happened, the highlights on this album generally aren't very high. Obviously just an album full of songs to increase streams, but that obviously ruins the album experience; an experience that was middling at best here regardless, just in search for a viral tiktok song or ... read more

I'm definitely missing something. This sounds like Playboi Carti's cousin got on a track without the experience, capability or personality it takes to make a Carti track intriguing.

Hard to say much about this album. It's gunna doing gunna the same way gunna has been doing gunna for years. If you like gunna I guess this is for you, but I personally find very little of this album to have any substance at all. It's boring. Very boring and i hope this doesn't become a standard as I do think that gunna is able to make some good, fun songs if there's any amount of effort on his or the producers part. This album though, no substance whatsoever.

It sounds inspired and at times quite generic, but Dro Kenji hasn't been trying to reinvent emo rap, just preform it to a high level, and this album does just that. Derivative, familiar but in no way boring. Strong, emotional, energetic and unique vocal deliveries hold this artist above the others and this is the best breakout emo-rap artist I've heard in quite a while. If it was 2016, this shit would blow up, but as it stands, ANYWHERE BUT HERE, and Dro Kenji in general, are some of the best ... read more

Things with wings feels a little bit uninspired and phoned in compared to COA, the record where we saw ericdoa carve out his identity in the now-overpopulated hyper-pop scene. This album goes in a bit of a different direction, sounding more like a collection of pop-centric hitmakers for the most part, attempting to provide catchy hooks, simple melodies and digestible vocals and instrumentals. A step down in my opinion, as I enjoyed the more off-the-wall, experimental environment from COA. ... read more
Big fan of Brakence and this being his breakout record; it's impressive, no doubt. He did well to carve his sound out in the growing hyperpop soundscape and evolve further than the genre has been able to thus far. Quality isn't quite there as in his future release "Hypochondriac" but the groundwork here set him up perfectly to grow from. A lot of interesting, developing sounds in the production with the unique, emotionally charged punk-rock type vocal performance and the pitch play on ... read more
