In other words, simply let me know what your favorite album of all time is, leave a description/explanation if you’d like, and I’ll add it to this list!

Thank you all for contributing. :)

Charli XCX - Pop 2
@VideoBoy

“Explanation: I'm gay.”
Ecco2k - E
@MC

“Usually it's Blonde by Frank Ocean but for this list I choose ‘E’ by ecco2k because it helped me realize who i really was and helped me come to terms with myself“
The Velvet Underground & Nico - The Velvet Underground & Nico

@JustSomeGuy

“It still amazes me how fresh this album sounds. Like, it could easily pass as a noise rock album released in the 2000s, or even 2010s. Lou Reed's poetry was unlike anything else heard in popular music at the time. John Cale's compositions and his distorted viola, Nico's lovely vocals that contrast Reed's more straightforward swagger and charisma, Andy Warhol's excellent production, it all comes together to perfectly capture the griminess of the streets of New York, something that would play a big part in Reed's own music for the entirety of his career but that he would rarely come close to emulating again.”
Lorde - Melodrama

@Zaias

“Melodrama was crucial for me to expand my musical taste, and I just couldn't get enough of it.“
The Microphones - Microphones in 2020

@IEnjoyMusic

@RiskR

The Microphones - The Glow Pt. 2
99
@SnowyFighter

“The Glow Pt. 2 is an album that means more than words to me. I don’t think I could ever truly explain how much love I have for this album and Phil’s music. It just hits that certain part of my core with the emotion, melodies, vocals, story telling, production, instrumentals, performances, etc. It has had a hugeeeee impact on my life, and has made me love music more than ever”
Arcade Fire - Funeral
85
@Kodan

“it was one of a collective of albums that helped me cope through a really sad period in my life, and it made me feel not alone in that dark time. the tracks still make me cry every day. but in a good and healthy way, of course.”
Built to Spill - Perfect From Now On
75
@rater_ratings

“it's a bit hard to describe, because nothing in the world makes me feel like this album. the swirling, complex guitar work along with Doug Martsch's honest, philosophical lyrics are the core of what makes this album so good. i guess if i had to write a little witty blurb about it, this album emits the same feeling as when falling in love for the first time, but in musical form.“
Wowaka - アンハッピーリフレイン (Unhappy Refrain)
@megumicarrot

“An album that i hold near and dear to my heart, Wowaka’s music has help get me through so much, with the beautiful melodies and lyrics behind his songs.
Truly the best to ever come out of vocaloid, and easily my favourite album of all time, rest in peace wowaka <3“
Car Seat Headrest - Twin Fantasy (Face to Face)
99
@koxtil

@Notjackso

@Aydn

“If you're hearts been broken, you know why it sounds the way it does.”
Weyes Blood - Titanic Rising
90
@lacerdao

“I saw this list and I thought a lot about which was my favorite album, and I came to the conclusion that it was just impossible to choose. Well, some weeks later here I am with an answer...
When it comes to music it's always really hard to explain why I like a particular thing so much, but I'd say Titanic Rising is just so comforting and pleasant, but not in a bad way, like it's "simple"; it's actually very intriguing and demands your attention, but not in a single moment it is irritating. It has grandiose moments, more contained moments, incredible instuments and amazing lyrics. It also really helps that she's my favorite voice, I just can't get enough of it.”
Black Country, New Road - Ants From Up There
100
@Ethan J. M (Me)

“I’ve had a whole lot of doubts as to whether this is truly my favorite album of all time, but at the end of the day…this is it. It doesn’t matter to me how new it is, nor does its imperfections which I do not hesitate to admit are present, as incredible as it is. Because, the thing is, no music is perfect, but even more so, this means so much more to me than any other album that I know. It feels so very personal in a way that I can hardly explain, it reminds me of myself and I relate to it in so many ways. I truly love and adore it, and I could not be more grateful that it exists. And so, there’s just no other album that deserves and has straight-up earned the position of my favorite album of all time than ‘Ants From Up There’ by Black Country, New Road.”
Rex Orange County - Apricot Princess
@HillyBilly

“rex orange county rocks”
Daft Punk - Alive 2007
@Doofly

“The insane amounts of envy I feel for the people who were able to experience the most exciting electronic mixes of all time gets to me every listen. I've heard Alive 2007 well over fives times now and I still get the same rush I had in the first listen to this day.“
Porter Robinson - Worlds
@willowsfields

“explanation thingy: The experience I get out of listening to it is unmatched, and it means more to me than I could ever truly put into words. It's not even close to being the best album of all time, but it's my perfect album and I love it and it's good and you should listen and yes.”
Arctic Monkeys - Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino
@Yanappu

“It's basically the album that made me love music like i do today (and also is my first vinyl). On first listen i almost hated but it ended up being my fav after few more listen :)“
Radiohead - Kid A
95
@mike_drop

“easily my fav radiohead album and one of my favorites of all time. incredibly consistent and well put together from front to back, unique production and ideas, unsettling lyrical content, and also one of the records that made me really fall in love with music.“
Sufjan Stevens - Illinois
95
@thevinylmeister

“A lavish folk epic which is the perfect showcase of his near-perfect songwriting. Folk is at the center of my heart and this album is at the center of that. No album has moved me like this one.”
Death Grips - The Money Store
65
@SagePanic

“The Money Store, to me, is perfection encapsulated in tiny pockets. This is the only album I've had the guts to give every song a 100 score to so far, and it definitely deserves it. Each track is not only unique from one another, but brilliant and extreme in any possible field. I love this album's boundary-pushing edge, but above all, I love how it manages to be some of the most addicting music. It almost feels unreal how cathartic it feels to listen to each time; like I let everything go in the name of this piece of art. The immense talent and quality shown by the trio, combined with an unmatched level of listenability and longevity is what truly makes this album my favorite.“
Sachiko M, Toshimaru Nakamura & Otomo Yoshihide - Good Morning Good Night
@Tristan

“I feel forever in debt to this album for truly opening my eyes into the world of real experimental music. It marks the largest shift in my perspective on music and I give it full responsibility for allowing me to progress to where I am now.
The album is like a gorgeous and well-maintained garden. I exist in its space for mere observational learning and careful navigation, much like traveling through a sacred temple. Every sound so specifically placed with clear intentions, pure enjoyment and satisfaction, it's an unforgettable experience. I believe it represents me better than any other music, and I feel a strong emotional connection to it.”
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
85
@xanderjones

“Soundtracks for the Blind, musically speaking, is better, but I feel like if I never discovered Pink Floyd's music at all (songs like "Us and Them" and "Shine On You Crazy Diamond"), I don't think I would have been able to sit down to an album that is as long as Soundtracks.“
FKA twigs - MAGDALENE
@Lucassarsfield

“Magdalene by fka twigs is a beautiful record that is full of emotion its truly heartbreaking the album features fka twigs best vocal performance as well as experimentation. It is a truly incredible experiance“
Daughters - You Won't Get What You Want
@Keith

“It's the only album that can me my feel like I am dying”

Lol mine was actually at the top initially, then I removed it because I was having doubts of whether AFUT is really my favorite album of all time. Then when I re-added it I thought it just wouldn’t make sense to send it back to the top, after all I am not the point of this list, haha.
