By stripping back their songs and sound to its most raw and primative form, Nirvana are able to highlight its underlying emotinal power. While there are many standout moments such as the iconic rendition of about a girl or their increadible Bowie cover, the closer, a cover of Lead Belly's 'where did you sleep last night', is prehaps the most powerful of the entire set
As many have noted, Nirvana's final studio album attempts to strike a balence between their rough around the edges debut and their more polished second release and while that does give way to some career standout moments such as Heart Shaped Box, Rape Me and All Apologies, overall, i prefer the polish
