This is amazing. Great music to play balders gate to
This reminds me of early animal collective in the best way. I felt deeply moved by this album, it was absolutely majestic, mystical, and gave me a transcendent experience.
I have not had music make me feel so alive and excited in a very long time, I’ve only listened to this once and I’m already itching to dive back in.
I could see this being an aoty contender for sure. I know nothing about Julia Holter, but I feel her music on a level that took me by surprise. This feels like it ... read more
I wanted so bad to like this. There are some strong tracks and the production is solid throughout, even on the songs I didn’t like, but a lot of this was such a drag for me to get though.
The way he pronounces his words and his voice also really started to get on my nerves. Still the best solo album of anyone post brockhampton imo
It’s just a bunch of songs that sound like, but aren’t as good as “water”
I love water a lot though, one of the best hits of the year. She needs to diversify her sound and do something different if she wants staying power. This wasn’t awful, and a lot of these songs would be fun to listen to in small spurts at parties or when going for a ride, but getting through this in full was hard.
If this was trimmed down to just the best song it’s could easily be a 78 or an 80.
There are some really really great songs, some really fantastic beats and amazing features. The intro, the one with Kendrick, young metro and type shit are examples of absolute bangers.
This album is front loaded, at the half way point I was absolutely shocked with how consistently amazing it was but it feels like it’s kind of full of filler (not that the filler is “bad”, just a little ... read more
Corny but with a lot of heart.
Outside, firefly, bonfire, heartbeat and les all have nostalgia and positive memories attached to them for me. I bought this album secretly when I was 11. I loved it back then, but listening to it as an adult is pretty excruciating.
If I wasn’t being blinded by nostalgia goggles this would probably get like a 25 from me, but I do think it shows potential and a lot of heart at times.
A mixed bag, but a love more songs than I dislike.
It’s hard to point out specific tracks but the 21 savage one and the outro are some of his best songs ever.
I also like the one about Bigfoot and selling cocaine. I like that one a lot, probably more than I should.
Feels like summer is a solid radio hit about global warming and the two songs that have titles are really really great and catchy with meanings I think are well executed.
The yeezus sounding one is wayyyy too much without ... read more
The most influential album of all time.
And it isn't even in his top 5. GOAT
Pretty boring. I like the singles kind of I guess. But what happened? Her other two albums are some of the best pop I’ve ever heard and this is just so bland.
An amazing, well written, instrumentally cohesive debut from one of the best pop singers in this time. There are some songs on here that are amazing highlights (royals, team, tennis court, ribs) that make the other songs look kind of bland and boring; but that’s just a testament to how amazing these songs are because there aren’t really any bad or even “mid” songs on here.
Royals and team were all over the place when I was younger and I never got tired of them. The ... read more
One of the best pop albums in the last 20 years. Dark, ethereal, powerful, catchy and packs a unique punch that I’ve never heard another pop artist master quite like Lorde does here.
The dark and quiet production creates an atmosphere that feels mysterious, nostalgic and full of teenage wonder. The feeling you get when your 17 experiencing freedom for the r first time. Going to parties without your parents knowing, getting that first kiss, in a friend’s backyard with music playing ... read more
One of the best albums in this genre. Really put white nerdy dudes on. I never really had much of a weezer phase, and most of this album doesn’t really move me emotionally but there is no denying these are all just really great songs.
The song writing is very simple and relatable to pretty much all young men which I think is a big part of this album’s appeal.
I do prefer Pinkerton by just a little bit, but I love how polished, poppy and clean this album sounds.

Over hated.
Just a fun little album that shows a lot of potential and has some highlights. The bulk of this album that feels like filler really isn’t that bad, it’s just a little bland. I have a lot of nostalgia with some of these songs and the main compliment I have for this body of work that anyone reading this should consider is the hooks. There are a handful of songs on here that have hooks that feel powerful, catchy and just really really work.

A very beautiful listen front to back. This album feels like a walk at dusk by the pond with a loved one, it feels like the breeze during fall and it feels like driving with your girlfriend to the lake during summer.
Just listen to amoeba. Which may be her best song, and is the only track I really come back to to listen to by itself, the feeling this song gives me is so peaceful and it is a reminder of how simplicity in music can be so beautiful. It’s infectious, uplifting and feels ... read more
I was really pleasantly surprised with this.
The writing was cute and simple and the sound of this reminded me of the country songs I grew up listening to with my family when I was super young. I usually hate modern country but this had so much heart and was so sonically pretty it was very easy to warm up to it.
A culmination of everything I like about them. Their sound has really not aged well for me and I rarely revisit their music but I loved them in high school.
This is the last body of work of theirs that I bought and listened to. I realized even then it was losing its magic for me, but that may just be more about where I was/am in life more than it is about the music.
Because songs like Carrollton and 10,000 are amazing. Meet mr nice guy was a kind of corny attempt at a radio hit but this ... read more
