I’m a certified lil darkie hater but I do think the way he’s rapping on the deluxe really isn’t bad at all. Sounds like some 90’s stuff mixed with his normal corny boyish voice but I have a hard time hating on this
Step in the right direction I’d say
This left me speechless. I don’t even know what to say. This is phenomenal. The blend of every genre here mixed into a lofi shoegaze soup is done so well.
An amazing debut about something everyone can relate to; a first heartbreak. The singer songwriter, pop, punk and rock vibes all blend together here in a really beautiful way.
I’m glad I listened to this after falling in love with guts
Standard Conway. The beats are insane and all hHe this certain dark jazzy flavor that carry a lot of the project.
The song structure and flows are very standard for Conway, but he sounds as hungry and as angry as ever and has a lot of really menacing lyrics.
In a year of Conway over saturation, this wasn’t anything too special and it just kind of blends in with the rest of his 2023 music; but that doesn’t mean this isn’t great.
Corny with highlights here and there. I have nostalgi for some of these songs because I was a huge Hopsin fan when I was 14
Most of these songs suck but I think there are some highlights on here like the outro, my love has some cool melodic rapping, Fort Collins is a touching story until the third verse and Ill mind of Hopsin 7 is a big reason of why I was able to leave my religion.
The no words skit is fucking unintentionally hilarious. This album is a product of its time for sure, the vine ... read more
Not huge on this one. Always found it really boring and it does nothing for my emotionally. 2009, the beat on ladders, the intro, the synths on the outro, the second half of self care and dunno are all really good. The rest of this I could do without, but I do like the vibe of this album and the metaphor of him swimming; trying to keep his head above the water. His tragic passing really adds a layer to this album that makes it even more difficult to revisit, I don’t really care for the ... read more
Such a well produced, cohesive, smooth Beatles album. I see why most people think it’s their best. Nothing but great songs on here with a lot of their best every melodies. Love you to, doctor Robert and yellow submarine are really the only songs here that are any less than perfect,
This is peak beatles , everyone at their best. Lennon really shines on here for me.
Very repetitive, the bears are very basic at times, carti’s adlibs are overbearing a lot of the time but when this tape hits it really hits. Location, magnolia, and wokeuplikethis are undeniably brilliant.
There is a lot of potential on this tape that he more than lived up to in the years following.
I expected to hate this, but it wasn’t anything terrible. Just annoying and bland at times
The most ethereal, beautiful, smooth and glistening piece of music I’ve ever heard. This album sounds like a blend of my most romanticized and beautiful ideas about what heaven looks/feels like and what Las Vegas must look/feel like merged together. Some of the vocal runs here, the melodies, the shoegaze and dream pop production…. This album is as close to magic as us humans can get.
I can’t find the words to review this one. I can’t put words to this album, it’s just a feeling I get. And I think that’s pretty fitting for this album. Just listen and feel.
Sung Tongs is pure magic, no one other than my favorite band of all time college crafted something as weird, as human, and as masterful as this.
I really love the melody on tikwid. People and my favorite colors are great atmospheric tracks but don’t pack much of an emotional punch or sound too sonically appealing. But I still have a soft spot for the title track here. The vocal calls that go throughout the song give me a weird sense of nostalgia that’s given this EP a lot of replay value for me
This EP does a great job of showing how weird and emotional animal collective can get with their sound. The lyrics to street flash are some of the best descriptions of desperation I’ve ever read and the melodies on the title track are so sweet and lush. This EP gets really weird yet stays cohesive throughout its runtime.
I actually think this is a great piece of music to point to when trying to convey to someone how this band really goes as far left as the art requires them to while ... read more
One of the best pieces of recorded music ever made. This is peak rock, the merging of electronic sounds with rock and roll.
Not my personal favorite of theirs, but this is rated so highly for a reason.
This is Radiohead’s first real masterpiece, this is a piece of art that transcends music and pop culture and will be remembered forever. This album was them perfecting their signature sound, so that they could experiment with albums like Kid A and Amnesiac with everyone knowing what they ... read more
This album is so much fun. Sonically and lyrically, I’ve never heard anything like it.
It sounds just like the cover looks. The guitar playing is so technically amazing while blowing my mind as the vocals just spray all over the track at a tempo that’s so fast it gets my adrenaline pumping.
The story behind the album makes it so much more fun to follow along with, there are so many songs on here with a witty and theatrical twist to the lives of these characters.
The refrain’s ... read more
Zach Bryan has made me love country music. His 2023 output has been so revolutionary for the genre. These are solid leftovers, with the bon iver song being one of my favorite of the year. Very powerful song, lyrically and melodically.
So soft and ethereal. Beach house never drop anything that isn’t absolutely beautiful
The music was beautiful, really nice and slow with moments that really surprised me. The main thing with this short little album that really stood out to me were the lyrics… whoa man. I hear everyone talking about the musicality of this thing, but the poetry is seriously something special. I can’t stop thinking about the lyric in short sleeves where he’s talking about his mom. He explains that he controlled what she knew, by what I imagine would be the personality he put on ... read more
The most peaceful, serene, emotional electronic music I’ve ever heard. This album is just pure bliss in a way that no other album is. It always puts a smile on my face, the songwriting and the production on every song is just wonderful. This album is just wonderful.
This album has so much to say, and it sounds so good doing it. By far his most personal, there are songs on here like Father Time, mother I sober, United in grief and savior that are so introspective yet beautiful at the same time.
He really pulled off what he was going for with this one. The few times the album isn’t it’s best is when it feels like he’s trying to cram too big of a message into a small product.. like with auntie diaries and Purple Heart. Which has to be one ... read more
