I follow Cave town on Bandcamp and was alerted to this release as it came out, after giving it a thorough listen or two, I quite enjoyed what he laid out for the album. The slower songs weren't personally my cup of tea, but I understood the lyrics and meaning behind them, and it didn't diminish how I felt about them. Naturally I leaned more towards the glitchy and angry sounding pop tracks like Reaper and Straight Through My Head being my top contenders, I feel like each song has a ... read more
As per usual with Shayfer James, I quite enjoy the more twisted, wicked and dark songs, while the more slow and passive songs didn't quite hit the right spots for me. Overall this is something I enjoy and will likely find myself looping some songs as the mood comes.

Hazards, while appearing derivative of Public Void, has a more chaotic feeling found in glitchpop/core type songs, except it doesn't really work as well here when she leans into slower songs, it's a simmering that doesn't appetize. most songs are on par with what I expect out of Penelope, yet I cannot deny the ultimately social media girl feel of some of the EPs worst offenders, self care feels like more of a vent than a song and isn't all that enjoyable to listen to.
