I wasn’t really feeling it with the opening song, but it hooked me with the rest. This is a new genre for Sturgill and his voice suits it well. The instrumental work is also just top notch. I love the variety of instruments!
My favorite song from the album is “Don’t Let Go”, “Everyone Is Welcome” or “A Whiter Shade of Pale”. I thoroughly enjoyed all three.
My first full Red Clay Strays album and I’m definitely a fan! Something I appreciate is that while they have a main genre… there’s a lot of variety within it.
A lot of good songs throughout!
My favorite song from the album is “People Hatin’”
I like how as you get more recent in the Mountain Goats discography they get more experimental and unique. This one isn’t even that recent!
Some nice classic MG stuff and some variety of different styles. It’s good!
My favorite song is either “Damn These Vampires” or “Beautiful Gas Mask”!
An album full of good folk punk songs! I'm a big fan of Pat the Bunny! I just realized that he's also the lead singer of Wingnut Dishwasher's Union... I really like their one album.
My favorite from this album is "Song for a Stray Cat on the Fence", "Never Coming Home" or "More About Alcoholism"
Pat the Bunny has such a small discography... I definitely need to check out more of his group music.
Nothing spectacular, but all of the songs are good. The Mountain Goats are my favorite band right now… they stay producing great music.
My favorite song from this album is “San Bernardino”!
