Burzum - Dauði Baldrs

Not bad, but not good either.

Robert Turman - Way Down

It’s kinda boring [2]

Sexy Sushi - Cyril

Kursive music or maybe Kursed music?

'Crush' is undoubtedly one of the worst songs I've heard in the past few months.

MJ Lenderman - Manning Fireworks
NR

Not for me. I’m not going to leave a score since I don’t have a specific number in mind.

Purity Ring - shrines

This album is giving me major teenage vibes. Good times, I guess... *ugly crying face*

Las Bistecs - Oferta
80

I need more music like this in my life. Y Viva España.

Andrew Montana - American Pastoral
70

Smelling freshly cut grass, walking in the woods, and catching the late spring rays of the sun make the album sound extremely edible and attractive. It's a great record but not suitable for every occasion. Leash (or don't leash) your dog, walk it, and enjoy the record playing.

indecent insects - Moose / Meadow "Live" at Polarizefest

Anything with dogs makes me interested. If I see dogs, I immediately click on it. Nice record, though, but not everyone will like it. I like it.

Eyelash - Eyelash
70

A solid piece of synthpunk you would probably dance your ass off to.

Sigur Rós - Ágætis byrjun
90

Wow, what an experience. It gets better with every listen.

Gesaffelstein - GAMMA
55

There is nothing special or spectacular about Gamma. The 27 minutes with Mike passed by like a rocket, and I'm glad it was that fast. Any additional minute on this record would have negatively affected the scoring, I'm sorry.

Grammatik - Światła Miasta
70

Polish Music Deep Dive #28

Swiatła Miasta is undoubtedly one of the greatest Polish hip-hop releases. It has significantly influenced many conscious hip-hop artists to this day. What really amazes me about this record is the fact that these young lads were able to record and release a strong, bold album without relying on slang, cursing language, and an excessive amount of kurwas used in the lyrics. I appreciate their language choice.

Reni Jusis - Je suis Reni

Polish Music Deep Dive #27

Lovely interpretations, even lovelier arrangements, but that's all. I don't think "Je suis Reni" is an emblem of Jusis's discography. The retro sound makes it calm and cozy, but I'm not really sure what to think about this record. Garlicki has an impressive voice, and the chanson repertoire suits him well. I have nothing else to say.

O.S.T.R. - O.C.B.

Polish Music Deep Dive #26

O.C.B. introduces O.S.T.R. as a first-time parent and a movie soundtrack producer. Good job! What did we get? Well, another record painfully swollen with an extensive amount of swearing, fears for Adam's son's future, Bałuty talk, and O.S.T.R.'s typical ranting style. Ostrowski in his prime. Some tracks are really outstanding in terms of sampling, production, and lyrics, e.g., O.C.B. and Po drodze do Nieba. However, the ninth album coming out from under the wings of ... read more

Reni Jusis - Ćma
60

Polish Music Deep Dive #25

I urgently need to relisten to this album because the very first listen gave me the impression of wandering in the fog. So far, "Ćma" sounds like a strong 6/10. I'll come back to this release soon.

Reni Jusis - Elektrenika

Polish Music Deep Dive #24

Another massive hit from Reni Jusis! I believe it would sound offensive if I only compared this record to Moloko or even Sophie Ellis-Bextor. References are clearly visible and easy to hear, but it's a reference with small significance because Reni keeps her own immaculate style and plays with it boldly. God, what a fucking great song "Nie dokazuj, nie dokazuj miły" is! I don't know if anybody in the industry wandered so far as to understand the coolness ... read more

"I'll absolutely delve into their discography just to, you know, broaden my picture and gain deeper insight into their universal style. The songs I didn't really get on well with are: "Free If We Want It" and "Before We Drift Away". Sometimes you hear something and immediately feel some kind of connection with the track; I didn't feel it with these 2 tracks."

"@kasparau Thanks for asking! :3 I find these three decades of Polish music history to be the most impactful and industry-shaping, to be honest. I'd love to delve into the 1950s, 60s, and 70s later on, but for now, I'm planning on building a similar list covering international artists from the 1950s to the 2020s first. With thousands of albums to listen to, my private little OCD is not allowing me to consume all the data at once."
