A solid shoegaze album with an incredible atmosphere. It was my first time listening to Tokyo Shoegazer, and I really enjoyed it.
Crazy how even at almost 80, he hasn’t lost his touch when it comes to melodies. He’s still creating beautiful music, and his vocals still have that warm feeling. The lyrics weren’t the best for me, but overall, I liked it. Still can’t get over that album cover though :)
The pain in James’s voice throughout the album is immense. My grandfather passed away a few months ago, and during his final months, he struggled with dementia. One thing that always stayed with me was that I was the only person he never forgot. He always remembered me, and that brought me comfort. At the same time, seeing the pain in my mother’s eyes when her own father could no longer recognize her was heartbreaking.
Because of that experience, I could connect, at least to a ... read more
Shoutout to @FÉRINA for this amazing new project, waiting to see what you create next!
I just heard Dredg for the first time and wow I genuinely did not expect them to be this good. How are more people not talking about this band?
Great album, but somebody please hand Ribbit a louder microphone before he croaks again.
I knew this album was going to be good, but I honestly didn’t expect it to be this good. And the fact that you had so many top-tier producers working with you at just 17 really shows how talented you are.
I’m at the point where I can confidently say their discography is top three all time, maybe even #1?
I’m surprised this band, especially this album, doesn’t get more recognition. It’s genuinely excellent.
It’s nice to hear new music from A$AP Rocky after so long, but this isn’t quite the comeback I expected from A$AP. The album’s alright, just not as strong as I hoped.
I’m really impressed with her work, but I feel like the album could’ve been a bit more creative. Her voice really fits the vibe and atmosphere of the genre so well, and I think she has so much potential to create a lot of new and really creative projects.
After reading the reviews, I thought, 'Finally, a Cole album I can fully get behind.' But when the first track hit, I immediately thought, 'Oh no, not another overrated release.' Thankfully, the rest of the album picked up, and I found myself enjoying it more as it went on. The jazz elements were a standout and really suited Cole's style. By the end, though, it dipped again, which brought it down slightly. All things considered, it was an enjoyable listen.
I was really excited for this album, but it didn't come close to my expectations. The singles that were released beforehand were great, but the rest of the album feels like a collection of unreleased tracks. The overall structure is lacking, making it hard to follow the progression of the LP. Despite these issues, there are some good songs that are perfect for repeating during midnight drives.
