Lil Yachty - Let's Start Here.

It's really cool that lil boat is expanding his style, but this album could have been way more fleshed out. Many of the songs feel derivative and kind of boring in my opinion.

Lil Ugly Mane - MISTA THUG ISOLATION

my mind is fucked up from this album like how do i even write about this

Westside Gunn - Hitler Wears Hermes 8: Side B
94

I genuinely can't believe how good this album is, when I think of Westside Gunn I tend to think of him as a talented rapper who hasn't put out a masterpiece. than I put this album on and realize how wrong I am. This album is the definition of lightning in a bottle, with the Flygod's signature voice & adlibs paired with the abstract, artsy, boom-bap beats, HWH8 Side B creates an incredible atmosphere of grittiness perfectly mixed with extravagance.

Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
96

One of the very best albums to touch the rock genre, NIN's The Downward Spiral is a massive, disturbing, yet irresistibly fun journey through the psyche of a broken mind. The level of noisiness tends to shift from song to song, from the chilled-out Piggy, and (mostly) unplugged Hurt, to the almost overwhelming Eraser, TDS never stays in one place for very long. This is Reznor's masterpiece, and the closest the industrial rock genre will ever get to perfection.

Tyler, The Creator - IGOR

Formerly one of my very favorite albums, but I recently realized I haven't been listening to it much at all, in fact, I haven't listened to it all the way through in months, so I decided to put I on again, and hey! It's still pretty good! While a few of the tracks have fallen off me quite a bit (Running Out Of Time and Puppet mostly), and I don't find the narrative as mind-blowingly incredible as I used to, however, the production is still what really brings this project to life, the buzzing ... read more

Kero Kero Bonito - Time 'n' Place

I started my music journey last year, and I decided I'll go back and revisit some of my old favorites from them, and randomly decided I would start here, with KKB's Time 'n' Place. KKB truly captured me last year, with the lush, extremely colorful production, and Sarah's incredible and impossible to not love vocals, they just always put me in a happy place even with their more somber projects such as this one. Coming back to it, I find myself still every bit as enamored with it as I was last ... read more

Mos Def - Black on Both Sides

Stop deadnaming him! His name is Yasiin Bey!

Conway the Machine - God Don't Make Mistakes
87

Conway's BoomBoomBoomBoomBooms will never be as good as the Flygod's, but they're a good attempt.
Now that the adlibs are out of the way let's talk about the second most important thing in a Griselda album, the music. The production of God Don't Make Mistakes shifts from eerie, too uplifting, to somber in a meticulous dance between Conway trying to maintain his badass gangster persona alongside some of the most vulnerable and revealing lyrics we've ever gotten from him, opening up about his ... read more

SZA - SOS

This sounds like such a sellout project in my opinion it feels like nearly every song was made to blow up on TikTok. I like it less and every listen and the ODB "Tribute" feels so soulless that even a sample of Bjork's "Hidden Place" my favorite song of all time can't save it. Not a fan of this project at all.

OFF! - Free LSD

Real. Punk. Shit.

Little Simz - NO THANK YOU
92

Little Simz with her 3 and 4th albums Grey Area and Sometimes I Might Be Introvert proved that she was one of the most talented rappers at the moment, constantly being referred to as the best female rapper at the moment (which feels condescending to me, but that's beside the point). Simbi grows as an artist with NO THANK YOU, creating a much more vulnerable and intimate atmosphere than her past projects. Quite possibly my favorite from her yet, though that may change with time.
