Snot - Get Some
87

For me, it's one of the best albums in the genre. Personally, I think nu metal has never been known for producing "masterpieces" as such, but it has certainly given us some very enjoyable and fun albums, and this is one of them. It's frenetic, it never lets up, and that combination of metal with punk and touches of funk is what makes it one of the most creative albums in the subgenre. Lynn's voice is unique and stands out a lot among other similar bands; it's wild ... read more

Have Heart - Songs to Scream At the Sun

This album is a gem. Honestly, I didn't like it the first time I heard it, but it's really grown on me. It's the perfect combination of sentimental hardcore punk and emo, VERY emo, but with those more "metaly" riffs and groove that give it a such a unique sound. At first, the vocals didn't quite click with me, but as the songs go on, you realize they fit perfectly with the sound they create, and they're quite special, they have that iconic punk rawness but ... read more

Tyler, The Creator - DON'T TAP THE GLASS
75

Fun album, I don't know, it's not the best I've ever heard, but it's enjoyable. Some tracks are pretty meh, others are quite good and fun. Enjoyable.
Favs: Big Poe, RingRingRing, Sucka Free, DTTG
Worst: Mommanem, Stop Playing With Me

Limp Bizkit - Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water
70

Definitely the album of all time. Personally, I think its main flaw is consistency, as it has some pretty good songs, but they're strangely mixed with some really bad ones; there's no middle ground. Even so, I think it's overhated, it's not the best nu-metal album out there, but it's not terrible either. It's fun, I don't care.
Favs: My Generation, Take a Look Around, Boiler
Worst: like 5 or 6 songs

Converge - Love Is Not Enough
80

Overall, it's a very good metalcore album. Converge never disappoints. It's incredible how a band with such a long history remains relevant and maintains an excellent level of quality. Even so, it's not their best work by any means. Many songs feel similar, repeating many motifs and using the same formula in several tracks, but being a short album makes it enjoyable. Finally, I must say that I prefer Jacob's vocals on this album to those on their last two or three releases; ... read more

Death Grips - Exmilitary
90

Strange, aggressive, abstract, there's no other album with this sound, none compare to it. I have to say, the first half takes almost all the credit with tracks that could easily be among the best songs ever made in the genre. Personally, I think the second half feels less interesting, and I'd even say it drags a bit towards the end. But there's no doubt this album is a masterclass in how to produce a rap album of this peculiarity and unusualness. I mean, how the hell do you rap ... read more

Jeff Buckley - Grace

It's unbelievable how someone can make such a great debut album, man, IT'S HIS FIRST AND ONLY ALBUM. There's not much to add that hasn't been said before. Some of the best vocals I've ever heard. Listening to Mojo Pin and Grace back-to-back for the first time was one of the best experiences I've ever had listening to music. I went in thinking it would be an album I wouldn't like that much, and from the very first two songs i already had goosebumps and tears in ... read more

Queens of the Stone Age - ...Like Clockwork
100

One of the most consistent rock albums you can find from the 10s onward, it doesn't have a single bad song. Some are better than others, sure, but every track is special. It's very difficult to choose a favorite among so many gems. It's that "old school" sound that many rock bands try to achieve, only this time they do it flawlessly. It has that characteristic hard rock tone of past decades but with such polished production and an artistic touch that it's ... read more

Mr. Bungle - California
95

One of the most eccentric albums you'll ever find, it's a rare combination of accessible and avant-garde music. It makes no sense, yet it makes perfect sense. My only criticism is the lack of consistency in the second half, but it doesn't detract too much from the overall work. I still don't understand why the more accessible tracks aren't more widely known; they could easily be on the radio. As for the weirder tracks, the ideas and experimentation are simply so unique. ... read more

TOOL - 10,000 Days

I must say that over time it grew on me; I wasn't a big fan before, but aside from the unnecessary interludes and the song "Intention" (which lasts more than 7 minutes and adds almost nothing), what remains is an album with some spectacular songs, probably 3 or 4 of the best metal tracks of the 2000s. But as I said before, it has some things that disrupt the flow of the listening experience that could easily be left out.
Favs: Vicarious, Jambi, 10,000 Days, Rosseta Stoned

Fishmans - LONG SEASON
97

One of the best musical experiences, although, as absolutely everyone mentions, those 6 minutes of plop plop drag on quite a bit. Maybe if it were half as long it would be less noticeable; that would be the only thing that lowers my rating. Aside from that, it's one of the most beautifully sounding albums/songs you'll ever hear. It even feels short at times, perfect for walks or trips. Simply gorgeous.

MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS - MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS
90

What a great album! Personally, I think it's better than World Is Yours, probably because i found it more catchy. My only criticism would be the final song, which I feel is a bit out of place, and that some tracks sound quite similar to each other. But it's not entirely a bad thing, since their sound is quite unique, largely due to their eccentric vocalist. A very good album; short, direct, and very enjoyable even without understanding what the hell they're saying.
Favs: Tracks ... read more

Converge - Jane Doe

Personally, I think it's the best metal album of all time. I can completely understand the people who hate it, as it probably has some of the most difficult vocals to get used to in all of music, they're unpleasant, disgusting, and tiring to the ear, but that's what makes them iconic, that's the album's charm, and I understand the people who simply hate it. But that duality between the most horrible vocals you can hear and the poetic, beautiful lyrics is what blows my ... read more

Black Sabbath - Paranoid

Despite being 56 years old, listening to it still feels fresh and interesting. It's incredible how one of the first metal albums remains one of the best in the genre. Every song feels like a musical anthem. The greatness of War Pigs is unparalleled, and those iconic riffs in Iron Man and Paranoid are simply magical. And the rest of the songs, while not as famous, are by no means inferior. Personally, I think Hand of Doom is one of the band's best tracks and one of the best rock songs ... read more

The Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream

For me, this is one of those rare albums with absolutely no bad songs. Literally any one of them could be your favorite, and you'd be right. It's perfect. It has a sound that has never been replicated and never will be. It's delicate, emotional, yet heavy and powerful. That combination has never been done as well as Smashing Pumpkins has done it with this album. It's simply breathtaking. It's undoubtedly my all-time favorite album. Listening to "Soma," ... read more

The Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
92

For such a long album, it really maintains its consistency. It's no secret that the first disc has the best songs, but the second is by no means lacking. Logically, the album has some songs that are worse than others, I mean, it has 28 tracks, that's almost inevitable, and yet it continues to grow on you the more you listen. It's definitely worth listening to the whole thing; there are songs and styles of sound for everyone. It's not perfect, and yet I would still consider ... read more

A Perfect Circle - Mer de Noms
72

I might be too influenced by Tool, since they're one of my favorite bands, but even though this album has incredible songs like "3 Libras" or "Judith," it's missing something. It has songs that don't offer very interesting ideas and songs that could easily have been left off the album. I'm mainly referring to the second half, because, as I mentioned before, the first half has some beautiful and very good songs, and that's the only reason I won't ... read more

Mac Miller - Circles
90

Some of the most beautiful music to come out in the 20s, very emotional, very expressive, simply an enjoyable, easy, and relaxing listen. It's hard to get bored or find bad songs on the album, but it must be said that towards the second half the sound starts to become a bit repetitive and some less interesting tracks begin to appear. Even so, a very good album, no big complaints.
Favs: Blue World, Good News, I Can See, Everybody
Worst: That's On Me, Hands, Surf

Deftones - White Pony
97

I honestly don't think it has a perfect tracklist. Songs like "Teenager" or "Street Carp" interrumpts the project's rhythm a bit, but this album contains so many absolutely beautiful songs, probably some of the best ever made for the genre, that it's impossible not to include it among the best. Tracks like "Digital Bath," "Knife Party," "Passenger," "Change," and "Pink Maggit" all contribute to making it one of ... read more

Nas - Illmatic

One of the most flawless albums you'll ever come across. There isn't a bad song; obviously, some are better than others, but it never stops being interesting. Super enjoyable, super fun to listen to, short, direct, incredible rapping over incredible beats. Nothing to say that hasn't been said before.
Favs: N.Y State of Mind, The World is Yours, Memory Lane, it Ain't Hard to Tell
Worst: One Time 4 Your Mind
