What the fuck
I mean… it’s good for a 5 year old, but it’s clearly just RDJ joking around. This sounds a lot like the 5 previous AFX EPs which were released on the same day as this, and it’s definitely not a coincidence. I guess the joke is kinda funny, thinking about a little kid making experimental music, but that’s all I got from this, simple novelty value.
This EP is just 6 minutes of experimenting with the Roland System 700, and it actually sounds like Aphex Twin, albeit a very demo-sounding version of his music, instead of just random electronic sounds. The beats are relatively interesting, but the two tracks are just not that noteworthy. I can’t help but feel neutral towards “sys700.”
Finally, something interesting!
Aphex Twin trades in electronic beats for strings, and it actually sounds good. This EP is still just electronic experimentation and lacks substance, but it’s pleasant.

More production wankery on this one. The first track is an uninteresting noise music-inspired electronic piece. The second track has less going on, but it’s somehow more interesting.
