The repetitive and simple lyrics work on some tracks, but god my interest in the album slipped when I kept noticing it. There are just far too many songs, some back to back where the climax of the song is the vocalist repeating one word. I feel if the vocalist was more on the level of the drummer and instrumentalists this album would be more enjoyable.
The top songs from the album “Arrows” and “Why” just feel like songs I’ve heard too many times before with the simple lyrics and dragged out emo/gothic vocals. It sounds like I’m listening to a tape recording of a high school band performing because of this and the mix, not a well-respected band that has been around for over a decade.
Overall, some songs on this album made me want to keep listening and left me wanting more, however, some songs wanted to make a tie a noose. I don’t think the hype for Red Fang’s new album is real, but it isn’t too disappointing.
