Way better than "X", but still far from a good album. The production carries every single track and Ken Carson seems like he doesn't even try to write decent lyrics or come up with flows that don't fall apart every 2 bars. I don't get the appeal.
"FAT D" got so overhyped to the point that I, as a non-Drake fan, am disappointed. Rapping is definitely Drake's best aspect while the singing on this album is boring, bland, tasteless and cringey. When Drake uses his vocal chords, it feels like I'm listening to him in slow motion and I mean that in the worst way possible. The longer this 23 track project went on, the more he lost me. There are definitely some very good songs on here and some of the featured artists did their thing, ... read more
Finally an album where Trippie can actually use his vocals as something beneficial. Neon Shark impressed me since I wasn't familiar with "Rock Trippie" yet, but I'm glad I am now. Compared to his newer stuff, I didn't catch myself falling asleep even once listening through this project. There are some skips, but the majority of the tracks I really do enjoy. Far from perfect, but if Trippie keeps exploring the rock genre, I definitely see him succeeding within it. Travis Barker did ... read more
The prize for the weirdest, corniest rollout in human history goes to Doja Cat. Getting carried by the production, "Scarlet" is the definition of mid. The fact Doja Cat tries everything she can to come over as 'quirky' on this album makes it even worse. Horrible deliveries, awful layering, insanely boring hooks and insubstantial lyrics don't help her case either. "Where's Roddy Ricch? Put you in a box." might be the worst bar I've heard all year. I regret every single choice ... read more
A classic Drake album with incredible highs but also some tracks that have aged badly, especially the beats. Happy 10 year anniversary to NWTS!
Favorite track: Too Much
The deluxe just makes Funeral so much better than it already was, incredible work by DC. "i'm losing it" might be one of the best outro's I have ever heard. Outstanding project.
"TEC" is filled with incredible similar sounding beats yet great production and vocals. I doubt Tecca's fans can hear the difference between some of the instrumentals. There's a lot of incredible lazy corny writing on here; "I keep it real like Madrid", "I made this shit look easy, Juice", "You know I'm dropping em off, Bruce", etc. I think some more features would've done this project some more justice too.
Besides that, I did enjoy this record thanks ... read more
Lots of people claim MTBMB is miles ahead of Kamikaze, but I don't know about that. This album is objectively better than Kamikaze, but MTBMB is almost as bad. Eminem lost his spark and the public knows it. He just doesn't wanna believe it.
A bit all over the place even with a "clear" vision for the direction of this album. JIK is one of Ye's weakest works but most of the tracks on here aren't too bad. I think this album could've been more polished though.
MBDTF is music in its purest form. The production, writing, features, beat switches, instrumental breakdowns, everything. I have so much to say yet left speechless. MBDTF album will forever be remembered as one of, if not the best album of all time.
EST Gee is in a league of his own. Super original and he makes his adlibs stand out in a way no other artist does. One of my favorite rappers at the moment and this project shows why; smart punchlines, good voice, punchy beats, decent features, etc. Amazing project with a few skips at the end.
X is a decent album. Memorable hooks and a lot of corny lyrics make X the album it was destined to be; very commercial yet again sounding good. There are a few skips but some others have a lot of replay value. Nothing more to say about this one.
Commercial music, sure, but it's good sounding commercial music. As Divide is 6 years old now, some songs aged better than others. Decent album.
Interesting project, but not very fond of it. I like some tracks but most of the others contain literally no substance, bad writing and questionable instrumentals. Could've been way more polished imo.
Fav tracks: Blame On Me, Questions
Boring for the most part, but Midnight Club does have a few actual good songs on it. Although I didn't know if I was listening to Yeat or Autumn! at times, especially at the start of this album. Midnight Club got so much better towards the ending, I genuinely believe half of the songs on this project should've never been on it. Altogether an alright project.
Favorite song: "Abloh!".
This was my very first introduction to Tom The Mail Man and I'm really blown away by this EP. Tom seems like he definitely found his sound and is still evolving within it. Super solid project with incredibly interesting instrumentals and vocal performances. I'm excited to hear more from Tom The Mail Man.
Goblin was a pain to listen to. Regardless the story it tries to paint, the edgy-ness, the later works, this album just doesn't sound good at all.
Graduation. That's all I really should say about this. Amazing, timeless and not a single skip. Rap in its purest form.
