Solid album by Taeyeon. Songs are consistently good, for the most part. Weekend being in this album is really odd because it's lyrical content and mood don't really match the overall aesthetic of the album (still a great song though).

Arguably Capsule's best album since they shied away from their Shibuya-Kei/Lounge phase. Fruits Clipper is essentially banger after banger with few breaks in between. It's still a joy to listen to after all these years.

The disparity in quality between the singles and non-single tracks (besides Hardest to Love, Too Late, and Repeat After Me) grows as this album ages. However, the singles more than make up for their shortcomings. It's fun looking back at how ... read more
I reviewed this a while back with a friend as a joke. Here are my thoughts regarding it (please excuse the grammar and spelling):
1. Champagne Poetry - 5/10 (Started off good but got worse as the song progressed)
2. Papi's Home - 4/10 (Good instrumental ruined by Drake's rapping and dumb lyrics)
3. Girls Want Girls - 0/10 (One of the most mind-numbing songs I've heard this year (2021); the chorus was cringe and Lil Baby's verse was awful; the mixing was awful too)
4. In the Bible - 1/10 (The ... read more

SAILORWAVE is a very important album to me. It's the album that helped introduced me to Vaporwave/Future Funk and subsequently, the world of Japanese music. Without this album, the music I listen to today would be a lot different. With that brief background out of the way, it is time to discuss this album. ... read more

SOUL LADY is very close to being perfect. I FEEL LOVE, NEON, pit-a-pet are absolute "bangers" and are among one of the most listened to songs in my library. The acoustic version of Cherries Jubiles is probably the only song I'd remove from the album. I cannot to hear what she has in store for us in her follow-up album.\
This is a very impressive follow-up to YUKIKA's debut album, Soul Lady. The production on this album is fantastic. It further explores the City Pop sound that was present throughout her first album. Arguably, YUKIKA and her production team were a lot more consistent in maintaining the overall City Pop aesthetic in this EP. I am eagerly waiting the follow-up to this EP.

The first half of Yeezus is very good (which is in large part due to Daft Punk's killer production on the first three tracks). There are some embarrassing lyrics here and there but the production masks any of their imperfections. However, the second half of this album does not hold up nearly as well. The instrumentation feels cheap, a ... read more

I remember listening to this album a lot back in the day. It still holds up quite well. The singles are very good while the deep cuts are mediocre, for the most part. Definitely worth a listen if you like 2010s-era Dance Pop!

Shibuya Meltdown has some very high highs while the rest of the tracks are mediocre to decent at best. I would love to see Macross 82-99 explore this style of music again in the future. There is a lot of potential for growth here as opposed to pumping out another okay Future Funk album.
I figured I would re-review this album after having listened to this album multiple times over the past two years.
