Easily my album of the year so far, just extremely solid jazz fusion with some interesting greep-isms
Nothing super special. Definitely not reinventing the wheel but some solid speed black metal
I love both of these bands individually, but Jesus Christ is this album obnoxious. I appreciate them trying to be creative but I have absolutely no idea why the fuck they made this frankenstein’s monster of an album
Interesting album. I love Cameron’s voice and I’m glad he’s pursuing new stuff but the whole chamber folk vibe just isn’t for me.
Extremely interesting, I’ve never heard anything like this in my life. A little unfocused, but has extremely strong highs.
Waited about a year after first listening to this to finally accept that it's my favorite album ever. The blending of multiple genres, themes of anxiety and mental health that are palpable in the music, the "rollercoaster" buildup and release structure, and TRAVIS' VOICE are just absolutely perfect. This album shouldn't work, but everything about it just clicks, it's a real frankenstein's monster.
Bowie’s magnum opus. All of the tracks are so unique but still fit into the overall vision perfectly. Genuinely absurd record.
Absolutely phenomenal production and instrumentation, but everything else isn’t great. Very pretentious with lackluster rapping and shallow lyricism. Certain sections are impressive, and this album had a lot of potential, but ended up falling short
Another really solid converge record. I like that they’re still willing to experiment with their sound, and it pays off
Easily some of pupil slicer’s best work. I have been looking forward to this album for a while and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT. Kate Davies is such an icon and this is probably my favorite metal release of the year
This is on par, if not better, than Danny’s previous peaks. Danny is already known for taking risks, but this album takes it to another level. The way he explores the full range of his sound is extremely interesting and further proved his sky-high ambition. Danny’s highlighting of trans artists is also really cool to see, and if you don’t think so, this music ain’t for you.
Really neat bunch of songs. Nothing mind blowing, just really solid metalcore by a band who has proven themselves multiple times over 20+ years. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the vengeance falls - what the dead men say era, but in the court of the dragon and now this are giving me hope in modern trivium. really solid stuff.
Very disappointing album from travis, especially considering Changes came out only 3 years prior, but his talent is undeniable
There are a lot of good ideas, and Travis’ voice continues to be great, but without the rest of the D-plan, it often fails to deliver
The sound is not for me personally, but I really appreciate what this album does, and I appreciate the risks it takes
60 -> 83: While I still think it’s probably the worst of TOOL’s albums, it’s grown on me over time, and I really appreciate what it does
Unbelievably underrated. The greatest folk album of all time, hands-down
Not a bad album by any means, but very underwhelming. It suffers from expectations being extremely high for JID after the forever story. Solid 7/10
