Pinned Review

There's something within the ambience that is so deeply melancholic and meaningful that you can't help but feel free. Although the album starts with the more hyperactive Tekka, the album is soothing. Sweet Trip clearly knows how to structure complex, yet, simple music, with every track having a melody that is a drug. I completely forgot half way through that this is from 2003, and realized how the music is so definitive of its time, and, in some cases, ahead of its time. The production is ... read more

It's safe to say that for myself and other fans of Ween, they have created extraordinary pieces of humorous and raunchy art that is shockingly influential. They're the one band that could do whatever the fuck they want and get away with it, even if the music isn't even good. From songs about suburbia to songs about drugs, this album is just as varied as every other album by Ween, and it's amazing. Arguably, Ween's final masterpiece is messy, playful and dark, but brown as hell.

I'm not sure what I missed, but this feels and sounds like basic post-punk with good writing and vocals that aren't bad but get annoying half way through. Every song on here is nothing but depressing and reminds me of an early 2000s soap opera.

Decided to re-review this one, as my previous review was half-assed.
The Mollusk, in my opinion, is Gene and Dean Ween's magnum opus. To me, this is one of the most consistent albums of all time, each song delivering some sort of emotion whether it's comedic, sad, touching, etc. Each song feels like its own creature, a sea creature. Everything is different and its own entity, its own "character." Whenever I put this album on, I start off feeling euphoric and goofy, and when its over ... read more

This is my introduction this band so I didn't have too much to expect. I had read the tags and when I read "dance-punk," it caught my eye. After listening, what I've gathered is that this is nothing groundbreaking or new, but it is far from bad. It can drag on, but the formula in this album is so fascinating. I only see my self returning to a few songs from this, the highlights being 'Nigel Hitter' and 'Born in Luton' for me, the rest is okay. I hope to see this band release something ... read more

Beautiful EP all the way through, this duo is incredibly creative and I cannot wait for a full length LP.
