Day 10/365 of listening to an album everyday

Going into this, I had expected a sophomore slump but I heard some of the best songs that I have heard from Sparks yet. I wonder why At Home At Work At Play isn't a huge 70s hit, that shit is fire. Songs like Thanks But No Thanks and Never Turn Your Back on Mother Earth are straight up beautiful and they show case the "artsy" side of Sparks' music. I really loved this hidden gem of an album and I encourage everyone to check Sparks out!

Whether you love it or hate it, this is what the band clearly wanted to put out for a long time.

King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard step away from lyrics about vomit, robots and the end of the world, sings about dreams and love to accompany bizarre, futuristic Japanese-style melodies. This is a direction I’d never see the band taking as they have always provided darker tones and ideas. I can easily say that this is the best record by the band since 2017, and I am so happy to say that. ... read more

Day 7/365 of listening to a new album everyday

Man, do the Murlocs know how to make a summer record or what!? I've been a fan of the band for a while now but never got to check out this album, and this was a pleasant surprise. On this record, the band focuses more on the rock aspect than the constant harmonica solos. Old Locomotive is really fuzzy, and not the best on the ears, but that doesn't stop it from being a sweet album overall.

If you havent heard any yet, I would 100% reccomend some albums by thee oh sees. They are very similar to the early king gizz sound. If you have heard them before id reccomend listening to an ep called "Fuckin whatever" by fuckin whatever. I found it this year and I really enjoy it.

My recommendation would be My Love Is Cool by Wolf Alice, its essentially an Indie rock album but it has elements of grunge, alt-rock, noise pop, dream pop, and even shoegaze :)) it's one of my all-time favorites, I hope you'll like it, let me know when you heard it!
