The Beatles are at their most fun, diverse and creative efforts on this record here. Which shouldn't have been a surprise for me as this thing is loaded with tracks, and also because the guys have been known for writing groundbreaking and experimental songs at it's time for literal decades now. Very fun listen, the second half kind of lost it's charm for me but it was still very decent overall. Loved her voice. Most of the album gave me heavy Fiona Apple and Kate Bush vibes.
I wished there was more songs like Rifle in this... what a very interesting track it was, loved it.
is the cover a reference to that one brainrot image of a puppy getting a lobotomy
definitely lacks the emotions that made me fall in love with opeth in the first place, which unsurprisinglyalso makes this album really forgettable for me, an extremely big step down
but all in all this isn't bad, especially for this major of a switch-up, which was of course going full on prog rock
it's enjoyable, and had some of it's moments, would also return to a few songs here and there

Nightmare King Grimm my favorite boss by faaar, he's so tuff
While this is very heavy and chaotic and it being somewhat groundbreaking for it's time as no record/band has ever sounded like this before. Which speaking of that, I'm pretty sure there's some usages in the early stages of the Death Growls here and there which is pretty cool. The message the band is trying to put out here is very clear too and it feels like it's being smacked in your face for 32 minutes straight.
