This was the first Swans album I listened to, and looking back, now that I've heard the rest of their discography, it wasn't the best place to start. Soundtracks For The Blind is not an easy album to get into. At the time I first listened to it, I hadn't been exposed to as much ambient, drone, or other experimental music. I ended up getting into Deftones after hearing their first three albums, and if I remember right, this was the first one I listened to all the way through. I don't listen to nu metal much these days, but the first two Deftones records are the exception - I come back to them regularly. Adrenaline is a hell of debut, and includes some of my favorite Deftones songs. While most people overlook this album in favor of Around The Fur, I'd say Adrenaline is also worth your time.

It seems like this album gets overlooked in Dir en grey's discography. It could just be that Macabre was the first album of theirs that I really got into, but it's actually one of my favorites of theirs (it's a close second behind Vulgar).
One of my favorite things about this album is the variety of genres covered here - DEG have always been pretty experimental, even this early on. It isn't too far removed from their last album, Gauze, but this one's a bit weirder. There are accessible songs ... read more
I started getting into music when I was in middle school - this was around 2013 or 2014 when EDM was still pretty big. One of the first artists I got really invested in was Skrillex. I listened to all of his main releases, then looked for more remixes, demos, and other obscure tracks. Celldweller has been a favorite of mine for a long time now. I've loved the self-titled album ever since I first listened to it, so when I heard that Satellites would be similar to the style of that first Celldweller album, I knew I would enjoy it. The fact that seven out of eight of these songs had already been released as singles beforehand didn't bother me much.
