This is a really well-made album with remarkable thematic meaning and artistry, but I feel like some of its execution could’ve been a little better. Much of the songs aren’t very replayable, Kendrick’s rapping and lyricism is sometimes too unorthodox or underwhelming, and there seems to be an emphasis on atmospherics and beats. It definitely doesn’t have the lyrical or beat-making magic as its predecessor, but it’s good enough to be worth a listen. Ms International, 4 mil til lockdown, everybody scream, I know sumptn, etc. There’s some good stuff on here.
