Vampire Weekend - Contra
Jun 12, 2019

Contra sees Vampire Weekend put out a further refinement what they were experimenting with on their debut, a sound which they would couple with better production and a more captivating vocal performance from Ezra. As a result, songs feel slicker and more lush on this album than on the self-titled, making for a more interesting listening experience. There isn't a bad song on this album, as every song feels interesting or worthwhile in some manner. Overall, this is a great album and one which holds up fantastically well 9 years later.
