I love XMFX! So many great picks! Lick or Sum is a favourite Xiu Xiu song so I'm super happy to see it publicly released. I hope Halloween, Losing You, and Dancing with a Stranger make the next Volume. Very fun compilation.

As an unabashed Robbie Williams fan, to like his music you need to accept that he’s an absolutely gaudy musician, and this album is pure gaud. I find him very endearing so I’m always happy to see him doing something even if it’s whatever this is. “Wham bam ain’t it a scam, Afghanistan and Vietnam”, is anyone else writing lyrics like this? This is something you can only get from listening to a Robbie Williams album.

Lacking and far too long, if your sound is to drag with monotone affect you need to be succinct, have a point, or go somewhere but I find this album just goes on and on without much to say and without much movement. Many of the shorter songs understand this and work well but most lull. They drag out aimlessly in a way that left me feeling disengaged very quickly. A lot like Black Box Recorder but without the depth or lyrical prowess. Vocalist has a beautiful voice but band is not interesting.

Very endearingly familiar, reminds me of lots pub bands and twee country rockers of the late 90s (like a more modern Lisa Marr or scruffier Dear Nora). Cute!
