"The Loniest Time" is Carly Rae Jepsen's most diverse album yet the least focused. The artist presented a new side of her artistry with the first single "Western Wind", showing that she can deliver memorable choruses even with a song more psychedelic. The song I would say is most similar is "Bends", probably my favorite song on the album, in which her voice is so crystal clear and vulnerable that it completely deviates from the rest of the record.
The rest of the album results in the singer's usual pop inspired by the 80's, which in itself is already great, as the artist is great at what she does, but I expected something a little more different, especially with the theme of loneliness. However, overall, I can say that I had a great album experience, given that it was quite fun and eclectic, even though it isn't something innovative in the singer's discography.
