Too many have a wrong understanding 🗣️
Oh goodness. This project is pretty great. The samples are distinctive, and the production appears to be a lot more polished and well-made. In my opinion, Cities' writing and delivery have both improved here. The instrumentals are phenomenal and the album flows wonderfully, making you want to hear more of each track (across 17 tracks). I am pretty impressed with this one. Although it is rather long, it is easy to focus on and immerse yourself in the ... read more
Cities Aviv pulls through a project similar to his 'THE CRASHING SOUND OF HOW IT GOES' but more inventive, aggressive, and unconventional. 'Man Plays the Horn' is an excellent Cities project, although it can be lengthy at points. This LP is outlandish and a positive step forward for Cities. Each song is raw, inventive, and well-crafted. His rapping also appears to have improved. Overall a pretty enjoyable LP if you're into the art like that. I don't think this is amazing though and ... read more
not that bad, but rather disappointing.
Cities Aviv's 'Your Discretion Is Trust' (2015), published earlier in his career after Black Pleasure and Come to Life, features some highly unique elements, an inviting atmosphere, and his distinct muffled voice. However, it is not as clear and enjoyable to listen to. Production could be much better, allowing the vocals to mix better. I enjoy the atmospheric instrumental tracks on this, and he's experimenting with different ideas. Still, most of the ... read more
It's pretty much just Cities Aviv's leftover tracks from Secret Waters (at least that's what it sounds like).
There's not much different going on here from usual Cities. Although, he's been doing this for so long that I hoped for more in this small EP.
The auto-tune at some points bro 😭😭
Cities Aviv's Immortal Flame experiments with some stuff that doesn't quite connect for me. It drags on way too much with the auto-tune making it even more insufferable at points. Otherwise, it's unique and a cool idea but fails to follow through. There are some good tracks on this thing too.
The infamous debut
TV Girl's French Exit showcases their talents for making dreamy hypnotic beats and creativity around doing so. This whole LP was a pretty decent listen. Lyrics are easy to understand and not too in-depth but it demonstrates their unique ideas. I love the instrumentals on here. Pantyhose, The Getaway, Talk to Strangers, The Blonde, and Lovers Rock are standouts. Blonde and Lovers Rock are obvious. Otherwise, this was a good LP and I see why people like this so much
I regret everything I have said before
This is sick and grew on me like crazy. One of the more interesting LP's from Cities Aviv to say the least. "GUM" is a heavily repetitive, woozy, and sickening LP, but in a good way. It welters in devastation with Cities' voice groaning at times. Seemingly almost intoxicated. Of course, you can say it drags on but that's kinda the point and the style he took. One of the complaints I had on this in my review before about this LP is that the ... read more
Okay so
The production is phenomenal on some of these tracks and it seems like that is developing. These songs are also getting really catchy. For example, End of Beginning is a song here that blew up on TikTok. That just shows that these songs are pretty catchy, and he doesn't have any trouble making them either. However, Joe can be inconsistent vocally on this and the lyrics can be quite repetitive for some songs. Besides that, it's pretty good. Anyway, I'm excited for what is coming next as ... read more
I did not know this was Joe Keery.
'Twenty Twenty' offers a well-produced psychedelic-pop record with hints of Tame Impala. But it isn't a ripoff. This album features several bangers. I mean there are super catchy songs on this. And it has a lovely chord progression throughout. And I was flabbergasted when I found out this was Joe Keery. This album is actually quite solid; it's not fantastic, but it's still good. A very fun enjoyable listen and an experience coming from Djo.
Quadicka did - after years of pursuing his music career, Quadeca has blossomed into something else. Simply put, this mixtape is beautiful. He masterfully engineered and produced all of the music included here. Benjamin's writing has been a recurring issue throughout his career since he was recognized for being a corny YouTube rapper who only talked about Skibidi a few years back. However, now he has transformed into a fully-formed artist. Lyrically, I think SCRAPYARD is outstanding. Quadeca ... read more
