Chance the Rapper - 10 Day

I wish I listened to this when it came out. I can almost taste Chance's potential. From the jump, it's obvious that Chance has personality, energy, and creativity. It's obvious that this would be followed up with a great project (or two).

J Cole gathers together a bundle of sticks and throws them on the ground. He titled it KOD

It's kinda ok but there isn't much here that he hasn't done. He just gave a new album idea the J Cole sound.

This one doesn't suck. It's actually pretty good. It just isn't some meaningful conscious music like people try to make it.

It's an improvement over his first album. That was boring.

At the same time, I feel like he took the least risky risks he could. The fact that Mr. Hole felt obligated to say "it's gonna be a whole lot darker this time" (or whatever the ****) shows that it isn't as dark as he wanted it to be, or at least as it should've been. An artist should never have to tell you what the album sounds like. It should just sound dark.
