Kendrick Lamar’s debut mixtape holds up EXTRAORDINARILY well. The rapping is on point, the beats bang, and the features are worked so well into the track list. There are some lows, but the highs are some of his best work.

F*ck Your Ethnicity: 10
Such a pretty song with some great flows and lyricism.

Hol up: 8.5
The beat is on point, the flow is sick, goes hard 💪🏼

ADHD: 10
Really solid song with some nice production

No Make Up (Her Vice): 7
The hook gets really annoying but the song has a nice message and the verses aren’t bad

Tammy’s song (her evils): 4.2
This song is kinda ass. The production is bad, the verses are terrible, probably Kendrick’s worst song

Chapter six: NR
Great interlude, but cut too short

Ronald Reagan Era: 8.4
Verses are incredible, the beat bangs, but I am not a fan of whoever chimes in throughout the track

Poe man’s dream: 10
Really powerful song with a lot to unpack. The production is simple, which allows you to really focus on what he’s saying. GLC comes in briefly, but still finds a great way to end the song

Chapter ten: NR
Another great interlude, wish it was a little longer

Keisha’s song (her pain): 9.8
Really heartbreaking song telling the story of a prostitute life and eventual death. One of Kendrick’s most underrated songs, for its storytelling and its message.

Rigamortus: 9.7
Not much can be said about this song that hasn’t already been. His flow is insane, his rhyme scenes are crazy, and the beat is classic freestyle material.

Kush and Corinthians: 10
Really chill laidback song, with a jazzy beat and smooth verses. BJ the Chicago Kid comes in at the end with one of the best guest verses on the album

Blow my high (members only): 7.2
Definitely the best Aliyah tribute from any of the big three.

Ab-Souls Outro: 10
I don’t think I’ve heard a better verse from any rapper than Ab Soul on this song. His delivery is so off the chain, like he’s racing to get his words out.

HiiPoWeR: 9.8
The perfect closer to a great album.

This is my first ever full review, so some feedback would be appreciated.
