This is my first La Dispute album, and if I was this blown away by this album I'm scared what I'm going to experience when listening to Wildlife

Well, I was really excited for this and unfortunately my expectations might have been too high :(

Don't get me wrong, this is still pretty good. But it feels too polished for a Big Thief album. In my opinion Adriannes voice thrives when it's surrounded by rougher production. Here everything is so smooth with literally almost no rough edges that it doesn't even feel like a Big Thief album at first.

This album goes insanely hard, musically it is so so vibrant and unique on most tracks and the sound of this record doesn't get stale or old for a second. I really like the sound that they go for, it's simple yet very pleasant to hear. Not the best thing I've heard this year, but it was still good enough to add most of the album to my playlist and get some enjoyment out of it, probably will check out more of their stuff.

The highs are pretty high, but the lows are so low 😭
While the production is super basic, I still like it. Same goes for the vocals, they are nothing special, but pleasant enough for me to like them.

But it's not, and that's good. Honestly I thought my expectations for something of this genre are way too high after listening to Quadeca, but this album still managed to surprise me. Since I've never heard Ants From Up There I don't have this mindset where I compare the two.

With that said, this album destroyed me emotionally and physically. Every note, every word carries so much emotion and it's honestly at times overwhelming. Call It Easy genuinely had me on the floor from how beautiful and grand it was but at the same time I cried so hard because of how tragic the lyrics are.

I listened to this album 3 times already, and I still find it really repetitive and sleepy. Like I almost fell asleep listening to it while sitting on a bench outside. And here I think the sleepiness of the album is kind of a plus. It's really well-produced and chill, but to me, unfortunately this sounds more like background music than something I will listen to while not doing nothing else

Idk what some of u are on about. Yeah it's predictable and generic but unlike his other stuff I actually felt something while listening to it. Kid Krow to me was a soulless and boring pop album. And while many problems that were present on Kid Krow are present here, like the basic and boring instrumentation, the songs being too long, I still can't help but really like this. Is it generic? Yup. Is it cringe at times? Big yes. But is it still enjoyable? Yeah I guess.
I kinda like Conan most when he uses electric guitars in his songs, they aren't anything special, but they somehow complement his way of writing and their absence is kinda noticeable to me I guess??? Either way, fine album, nothing special

While most songs do feel very similar, the combination of the raspy and the gentle vocals with the messy production really does something for me

An incredible mood setter. This album just feels evil, dark and really fucked, all while having surprisingly vibrant melodies and going incredibly hard.

Well...might not have been the best clipping album to start their discography with. This has too many interludes that kinda do more harm than good for the album. There are some songs that are insane, but the amount of just okay ones is almost the same. Biggest crime of the album was making Go so short, that minute had such a cool melody I wish it wasn't shorter than even some of the interludes.

It's kinda weird to see a Tyler album without the "Must Hear" label, but yeah this album is noticeably weaker than his work of the few last years. And yet Tyler just having fun with his music and experimenting with some stuff feels perfect after how serious Chromakopia was.
