I don't get it. This album is one big meander.

The first 3 tracks (not the Intro) are great. I really get sucked into their atmosphere and mood and the lyrics are admirably dark. Whoa is my favorite. I just can't get enough of the hypnotic xylophone the beat has. The album takes a nose dive after that and it only gets worse and worse. Bad is okay; it just doesnt leave much of an impression. Staring at the Sky is campy, but respectable. One Minute is by far the worst. The riff is super grating and doesnt have much of a change up to justify ... read more

ATC was a band I probably should've considered a guilty pleasure. Not anymore though. Past Lives is a great improvement on every front. The lyrics have more emotion and depth, Every song is catchier with production to actually back it up. It's some of the most fun I've had all year. If your need some more girly pop music, look no further.
Best: The Fuss, Scream, I Like the Way, Almost Forgot, Personal, Sweet Surrender
Worst: Come Alive, Friendly Reminder

This album is far from creative or original, but it's got BOPS. In Our Bones is a pleasant experience with only a few real missteps. The girly energy and great vocalist is what sells it for me. The lyrics leave a bit to be desired. I'm totally giving this album more than it deserves, but I like it so fuck it.

Best Tracks: One More Weekend, In Our Bones, Forget Me Now, Blood Like Gasoline, Demons
Worst Tracks: Brighter, Young and Relentless, Roses

I can see why people don't like this one. It's a band people liked for being fun and care free making a serious concept album. The music is darker and more alt rock leaning, the hooks are less in your face, and Foster the People as even more derivative than before. Despite that, I think this album is super underrated, even though it is my least favorite release from them.
The first track is really the only one that is as irresistible as Torches. Huge highlight. Yet, what I love about Supermodel ... read more

Torches changed my life back when I heard it at age 14. I was listening to a Passion Pit station on Pandora and Helena Beat came on. It immediately got me addicted to the band. Eventually, I sat down with the whole album and Foster the People instantly became my favorite band. Every song is just so damn catchy and production is so bright. Torches represents everything I love about indie pop.
Mark is one of my favorite vocalists. I love his falsetto and weird inflections he does. I wouldn't ... read more

This has become one of my go-to modern pop albums. I love every second. The personality and catchy hooks I loved from their past works has been applied to a harder electronic sound. The production is really on key. Looking at the other reviews, I can see how polarizing this album is. I get it, but for me? 10/10

There's plenty of great ideas and moments, but half of this album is just boring.

Yeah, it's pretty cool. Definitely a must listen just for the creativity alone. What keeps me from loving it is that it is a mixed bag. Tracks like Faceshopping and Is It Cold In the Water? are awesome and show how talented Sophie is. Yet, there's tracks like It's Okay to Cry and Infatuation that just aren't that enjoyable. The latter and the final track really drag on and Ponyboy and Not Okay just aren't as fleshed out as they could be. I'll keep the tracks I like; the album as a whole just ... read more

? is fucking hilarious. Almost every song is a disaster that you can't look away from. It is just so fucking goofy. I don't know how anyone can take this seriously. X's vocal inflections on some of the tracks are so bizarre I have no idea what he was trying to do. I'm referring to the weird squeaking he does on Moonlight and Hope. It is so easy to make fun of. From the campy screaming on Floor 555 and Pain = Bestfriend or the flow on The remedy for a broken heart that trys too hard smooth and ... read more

This ep is gorgeous. I love the messy story of this couple falling apart and trying to hold on despite them both clearly thinking it was doomed. There is a lot of detail and subtext to chew on. The production is also amazing. Every song flows so well into each other. I'm a sucker for that. It all feels tight and well paced. The ambient intro is so up my alley and the title track perfectly sets up the theme. Each track is creative in its own way, but Nocturne is my favorite. The splashing synths ... read more

I love this album. The production on these tracks wows me every time I hear it. Especially on tracks like icarus, float, and start//end; it's just so freaking cool. I vibe with the moodiness so hard. It's one of my go to albums to dissociate to. The only major issue I have with it is that the middle section lulls a bit. All of the tracks at that point are samey acoustic cuts. None of the tracks are unenjoyable, just having them all in a row is a bit much. One or two of them could have been cut. ... read more

it's like being smooched by an angel on my birthday. "It's your birthday," she says. I already knew that.

The interludes with his ex make me laugh my ass off. They are just too god damn campy. It can be so hard to listen to Juice WRLD whine for this long.

This thing is such a mess. The lyrics are so awkward and it completely fails at delivering its concept. At least the production is super fucking good on some of the tracks. As a huge Owl City fan, this does enough for me to not be too mad. I'm just glad it's better than Mobile Orchestra and Midsummer Station.

This album is pretty fun, but it needs to be more creative to truly become great. The simple mainstream- leaning electro pop production is well executed, it just doesn't go far enough. Years & Years could have an even brighter future with a little more artistic evolution.

I think Daughtry is the only band I've seen where I'm convinced they have literally no talent. Do they enjoy making this?

The more R&B leaning, melodic tracks are fucking horrendous, but how could you not have fun with this?

This album is insane. Every song is so catchy and creative. Guerilla Toss has so much personality and they've become one of my favorite bands recently. This is a must listen.
