8/10 - Really good

In an EP that just reaches outside the box, Curry and Kenny have made a rock-solid EP.

I am starting to believe that Denzel Curry cannot make a bad project. Be it full-length LPs or 17 minute EPs such as this one. He's the most confident, unique, consistent rappers out there. Creating his own lane. This time he teamed up with Kenny Beats and now he's paying homage to the old school rap of the east coast such as Wu-Tang. Paired with a short film / short animations about ... read more

2/10 - Inoffensive and boring.

Something sounds off, the album.

"This is the best of me", he sings in the first track. A true prophecy for the rest of the album. There's nothing on here that exceeds the first track, and the first track is bad. Everything here is just watered down. Nothing here of substance, nothing offensive and nothing to come back to. Well, maybe I'll put it on when I'm having trouble falling asleep. Maybe I won't even have to put on the whole album for that, ... read more

9/10 - Amazing

A project that screams creativity that'll always keep the listener guessing.

What is going to happen next? There's a lot of uncertainty in our lives right now. We don't know when the stores and schools will open again, and we don't know when we can grab out next pint at the local pub. Just like this album; we don't know what's coming next, but I'll be damned if this isn't as good as a pint. It rewards you for listening, diving over what feels like a whole spectrum of rock ... read more

7/10 - Good.

It is what it is, an emotional rollercoaster that holds your attention all the way through the ride.

From collaborations with Kendrick Lamar on one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time, "To Pimp A Butterfly" to producing the catchy bass-line on Mac Miller's "What's the use", Thundercat is one of the most well known contemporary multi-instrumentalists. Whatever he touches screams dexterity. Always embracing us in funky, jazzy and atmospherical tracks. ... read more

6/10 - Okay

An unfulfilling project from an artist with potential.

I first heard of Reyez through Eminem on his two tracks "Nice guy" and "Good guy". I thought "Nice guy" was good enough, so I thought it'd be reasonable to check her stuff out.

The record started strong but doesn't manage to succeed as a full-length LP. It's clear where she's more comfortable, like on tracks on Intruders, where we get to hear her calmly sing over bossa-nova about killing the ... read more
