The Pod by Ween is in my top 10 albums ever made and I say that with fucking PRIDE MOTHERFUCKER!!!!!
Let's start with the backstory for this shitfest:
Dean and Gene get mononucleosis shortly after releasing their debut album GodWeenSatan, we don't know how or why, but it was probably the best thing that could've ever happened to them, and even they said so themselves.
The album was recorded at The Pod (the album's namesake), which is a small ranch at Solebury Township, Pennsylvania.

During my pretty long hiatus from this site, my taste has changed quite a bit, and in that time Ween has become my favorite band of all time. There's absolutely NO band that'll ever match my experiences with these fucking goobers, I love you Gene and Dean Ween. Now onto the album, this is Ween's first album, and it's a fucking AWESOME debut, especially for 2 twenty year olds with minimal musical knowledge. Deaner's guitar ability has improved a lot since their cassette days, which means better ... read more
alright, I know I said I was gonna do a Frances the Mute review but. I just listened to this album, and it's honestly so much better than it, so I'm gonna delay that review again, and do this one. Angel's Egg by Gong, is an amazing psychedelic experience with an extremely elaborate story. This album is actually a part 2 of a trilogy, those being, Flying Teapot, Angel's Egg and You. The songs on this album flow EXTREMELY well, you can't even notice the transitions. This is definitely gonna ... read more

This is the first perfect Maiden record, everything about this album is perfection. The instrumentation is superb, Bruce is at his absolute peak right now, and the mixing is great. I have a personal attachment to this album, the first time I ever heard a Maiden song was in GTA: Vice City, and the song was 2 Minutes To Midnight on V-Rock. I listened to this song CONSTANTLY, I was absolutely obsessed. Many years passed, and I rediscovered Maiden back in 2020, so I ... read more

Just a tiny bit less good than NOTB, still an absolute amazing album. This is the first Maiden album featuring Nicko McBrain, and he's an absolute beast on this record, his drumming is absolutely top-notch. As for the others, can't say much, Steve's bass playing is amazing as always, Bruce's vocals are very powerful, and Adrian's and Dave's guitar playing are great. Just an all around great album with some of Maiden's strongest bangers.

FINALLY! We get to the best part of Iron Maiden, Bruce Dickinson. This album is an absolute classic, everyone knows that, the instrumentation is superb as always, the only difference between this album and the later 80s albums is the drumming, which was performed by the late Clive Burr. As much as I love Nicko, I feel like Clive's drumming is more unique and fits Maiden more. It's a real shame that he abandoned the band after this album.
This is definitely one of ... read more

In my opinion, Killers is one of Maiden's best records. It's a MASSIVE improvement from the debut, the production is better, the instrumentation is more precise and technical, it's great. It also has one of the best openers I've ever heard, the harmonies on The Ides of March are amazing.
Unfortunately though, this is their last album with vocalist Paul Di'Anno, who would be replaced by the legendary Bruce Dickinson.
Favorite songs: The Ides of March, Wrathchild, ... read more

The debut album from British NWOBHM band Iron Maiden was very influential for a lot of metal bands in the 80s, along with Judas Priest's British Steel. This album mixed punk and metal beautifully, although the album's production is a bit muddy, it's still an amazing experience throughout. Highly recommended for beginner metalheads.
Better and improved Realm of Chaos, this is a natural progression for the band. Every single track is memorable and unique. This album also features the debut of the "Killchain" riff which would continue to be used in later albums.
one of the greatest deathgrind albums ever made, also, THAT GUITAR TONE?????
SOOOO FUCKING UNDERRATED, Voivod deserves so much more attention than they have.
Kinda an unpopular opinion, but I don't really think that Persecution Mania is Sodom's best. It's a great album, don't get me wrong, but their other releases surpass it by a mile and it ain't even close.
Always preferred the German big 4 to the American big 4, their mix of early death and black metal with thrash is really good. Sodom is my favorite, this EP is why. This EP fucking bangs bro, it's insane.
