I haven't been all that interested on writing reviews, but I decided to get back since I've been anticipating a bunch of stuff from 2024. I'll be hoping it's a much better year for everyone :)
Anyway, it's my first time listening to a full Benny the Butcher album... And it was good! It started a wee-bit average with "Jermanie's Graduation" but it kept delivering more and more quality as the track-list went on. Lil Wayne's feature on "Big Dog" is easily ... read more
I haven't been much of a huge ambient-head until really recently, so I asked my friend and fellow user @/mitsnik for some recommendations of that genre. With Xiu Xiu, I'm always trying to visualize rather than connect myself to the horror they're displaying, and it's always the best choice. It's like the musical-equivalent of an average Ari-Aster film, where I don't understand anything, but it's fucking scary. It helps that I've listened to it first-time at fucking 03:00 AM, but it's impressive how immersive this album is, regardless of where or when I'm listening to it.
It's weird how this album was sitting at a 9/10 for such a time ... read more
