Night Ranger - Dawn Patrol

It's basically hair-metal with tons of synth all over that matches the cover so well. There were a few big things that stood out to me being the songwriting. It's really good and extremely catchy at points. The writing on "Don't Tell Me You Love Me" is really amazing. Mixed in with the synths and the massive chorus this song rocks. "Call My Name" starts as a piano ballad but slowly builds into a full on rock song. The build is great and the piano is really well played. "Eddie's Comin' Out Tonight" was another standout for me with a really solid chorus and some insane shredding for almost the entire back half of the track that is actually melodic and adds to the intensity of the song by a lot. While not my favorite song overall, the hook on "Young Girl In Love" is really well done with pause after the first hit adding a lot of punch. This is a really solid "progressive hair metal" album that's definitely been overlooked and is well worth your time to check out if you're into the genre.
