Injury Reserve - By the Time I Get to Phoenix
100

I need to seriously find more music like this, the noises are just orgasmic holy shit. Only rated 80 at the moment until it simmers and will see if it still holds the same strength after some time.

Edit: Holy shit it only gets better with repeated listenings, seriously where is music like this?

Alora Crucible - Thymiamatascension
70

The feelings that I garner from Thymiamatascension are reminiscent of the second side of David Bowie's album Low regarding the instrumentals used and the sensations felt. This music is the fantastic type of sound to compliment a dark, windy night with nothing other than your thoughts to drift off in. In particular, Livanomancy in Jasper and the two Synaxarions of John Isangelous and John Abject respectfully create this void-like experience that leaves itself unpredictable towards its final ... read more

Chance the Rapper - The Big Day
10

I just found out that Chance loves his wife! Don't worry, if you weren't able to catch that core message from the album, there is still another hour and 14 minutes to remind you of that fact. Enjoy I guess.

Corey Feldman - Angelic 2 the Core
0

I imagine this is the music my mother must have heard when she conceived me... its no wonder why I turned out the way I am today. Genuinely don't know how people are able to survive through the entire album without taking a hot shower to clean off the dirt festering on them after every song played.

Employed to Serve - Conquering
90

I haven't been able to hear any previous Employed to Serve albums so I decided to give this a go given the obviously incredible cover artwork. Little did I know I was in for a fantastic journey of metal-core with experimental elements. It goes hard, but not to the point of my ears bleeding out from genuine pain, striking an almost perfect balance between heavy and outright screamo. Also second on the female vocalist Justine Jones, of whose voice is especially impressive on this LP, not to ... read more

Arctic Monkeys - AM
40

It is evident as to why the band Arctic Monkeys have amassed such a fanbase they have today given their potential to make music capable of being energetic and emotionally charged, thus requiring further contemplation and repeated listening to truly appreciate. However, after several playthroughs back, this album does not hit on all of its bases, particularly in the realm of originality regarding lyricism and instrumentals. This can be noticed in the songs Do I Wanna Know? and Why’d You ... read more

Sufjan Stevens - Illinois
90

Similar to my prior lack of experience and conservative views on experimental metalcore that were shattered abruptly by the album Underneath by Code Orange, my lack of understanding and relative bias against genres of indie folk, rock, and pop were torn apart by the introduction of Sufjan Stevens’ Illinois. Initially, I had always had a somewhat bias against these genres due to my compulsion to only consume experimental hip-hop/RnB. Now, my music taste has varied significantly, with this ... read more

Code Orange - Underneath
90

This is the first time that I'm writing a review on AOYT so I'm not sure this will be the most excitable of reviews but here goes. I haven't heard anything from Code Orange prior to this album but holy smokes after listening to Underneath I will most certainly be going through their previous work because it was simply just an impressive LP. The song (deeperthanbefore) perfectly sets the tone for the album to have this chaotic, anxiety-riddled rollercoaster that dabbles impressively into the ... read more
