listening to this album with a more lyrically adept perspective has given me a lot more appreciation for it. conceptually this album is undoubtably perfect, going above and beyond with its cohesion and flow. every track has something to say, each one equally as important and the rest, and the way they all come together as a maximalist grand opera of the tribulations of black america works together perfectly. lyrically dense and witty and poignant and especially nuanced, i don't think i've ever ... read more

i have a pretty hefty amount of distaste towards radio pop as a whole so seeing this being way-sided because of how stigmatized billie has become is kinda sad, this is the most unique and well produced mainstream pop album i've heard and while that probably has more to do with me not listening to mainstream pop to argue that this album isn't unique would be false as well. finneas provides consistently solid instrumentals, only really faltering in the second half, and while the whole ... read more

My mind is completely fucked backwards after Bombzo for Baghdad.

Tags of "Poetry" and "Dark Ambient" on RYM and the first track alone really let me know i was going to be in for a really fucking odd experience. Oozing of dystopia and apocalypse, it's an incredibly concept-heavy, story driven experience about the last man on earth and his talking robot friend. I don't even truly understand the story, but i do want to. Most of the tracks aren't even full songs. They're not ... read more

worst album rollout since the life of pablo

if i looked purely at the tracklist and descriptors of this album i would be incredibly excited to listen to it. childish gambino created what i think is one of the best hip hop albums of all time with because the internet, i absolutely adore long, genre fusing hip hop tracks, and i especially love experimental hip hop. but listening to this is like the most non descript experimental hip hop i've ever heard. with the past couple years of industrial ... read more

if you had to choose a live performance of a song that's better than the original studio recording, what would it be? it can either be something youve experienced yourself or something from an official live album (cough cough its for a list)

New song out please listen and rate when you get the chance!

https://www.albumoftheyear.org/album/212654-aziz-fort-bend-intro.php

This song is a reflection of modern trap music in Houston, inspired by the mass graveyard reveal in the mid-2010s that forever plagued the citizens of Fort Bend (a county in Houston) and it's the reveal of a not so welcoming past. Its a concept I will dive deeper on my EP

I have yet to have time to master vocals. I had lyrics written down and everything but the mixing would have been trash. I will wait until the summer to learn how to master vocals, however the song itself I will leave as my instrumental intro.
