The new 5SOS album shows improvement, but they have yet to distinguish themselves in any real way. The majority of tracks are mindless, easy listening radio pop and the few interesting standout tracks are lost to the droning on the rest of the album. The vocals are actually very good, but that becomes useless as their usually overshadowed by the bland beats and boring melodies.

FAV TRACKS: Red Desert, Teeth, High
WORST TRACKS: Wildflower, Not In The Same Way, Thin White Lies, Old Me

Wow, it's hard to put into words why I love this album. The fun 70s inspired melodies and grooves all over the tracks are just so so fun. I often find myself genuinely grinning sometimes while I'm listening. I'm also struck by how easy this album is to listen to, it's smooth from top to bottom.

It can catch you off guard sometimes with the honesty of the lyrics which is really refreshing between some of the more radio-y dance tracks. It's fun, it's good and I like it probably more than I ... read more

Kind of going against the grain here, but I would argue this album is better than Ultralife, which despite being more mainstream pop and less 'boring' than their debut and NECWYC, just had no soul in my opinion, I just didn't feel anything or connect with any of the songs. This album on the other hand was infinitely more personal and though I can understand how you could find the songs and or vocals boring or uninspired that just isn't how it feels for me and some slow pop is exactly what I ... read more

This sounds like the shitty pop rock music you put in the back of a bad teen movie from 2004 which, ironically, was the last year Green Day made anything good.

It's as clean and un-gritty as possible, so overproduced it's painful. The lyrics are just sad and the vocals are whiny and lame whilst somehow also being way too smooth. The songs are so short because they know they just don't hold up.

It's a collection of boring, inoffensive rock songs with nothing to say. I've chosen to believe ... read more

I've never been this offended by an album. This album is about as deep as a kiddie pool and I'm fairly certain Jacob Sartorius could write a more lyrically impressive album which might be the saddest thing I've ever said.

For being the opening track on an album called Changes, All Around Me doesn't change up at all and offers bland, unoriginal and totally uninspiring vocals and melody which pretty much sets the tone for the entirety of the rest of the album.

I have never heard a more ... read more
