'Coltrane Time' is an album originally released as a collaboration of John Coltrane and Cecil Taylor in 1959. But the album was later reissued in 1962, where they also renamed the album 'Coltrane Time' and placed the entire project under Coltrane's name. The material is really nice though. The first track, "Shifting Down" is a wonderful collection of popping horns and bouncing piano notes. I like how both the horns and piano kinda get their own little solo moment on this track too; first, the horns, then the piano, then they both combine near the end. It's a short album (33 minutes) and only four tracks, but they all pack a strong punch. Overall, a very enjoyable record and one of my favorites that I've heard from Coltrane so far.
Decent 7/10
