Even beyond death, Ryan can still reach us. Can still evoke such intense emotions out of us. And it’s so beautiful.
Good, but not great. Nothing really stands out, but nothings bad either. There’re some cool moments, and some nice vocals, but overall everything is just ok.
my GOATED actor… she can’t do any wrong, and anyone who thinks she can will be blasted by a death beam π
These old ass dudes can still make incredible music, crazy π£οΈ
but seriously, it’s amazing that the national can still make music this great this deep into their career. they even beat the sleepy music allegations with this one, that’s how good it is π
The worst album these guys have made besides their first one, and it’s still pretty good. Definitely some genuine sleepers in the tracks, but there’s enough quality here to make a listen worthwhile. DAD ROCK STRIKES AGAIN π₯π₯π₯
Just some really nice jazz to vibe out to, nothing crazy. Definitely not as interesting as any of their other albums, but for what it is, it’s really good :)
I’m sorry, this is too much. Like, it’s not bad in any way, it’s just too much. Sometimes It can grip me and take me on an incredible journey, other times my ears are being assaulted by a million different noises. I don’t understand this album at all, really. Course I don’t hate it or anything, it’s just not my cup of tea. Too much is never a good thing, and this is a prime example of that.
What in the hell is this? Genuinely, this is like a trash fire in musical form. Is it in a good or bad way? Well, it really depends on the song. Some use the craziness to their advantage and make a really compelling experience, but others are just too much for their own good. I’d say there’s more positives than negatives here, but it’s still suffering from being way too much.
I really didn’t expect this album to be as gorgeous as it is, but holyyyy it’s beautiful. Mavi is incredible over these beats, just flowing so naturally and smoothly. He made this album for me, even with the incredible beats. Cuz yeah, you can have amazing beats, but it takes someone like Mavi to make them work. Someone with so much charm and talent. Truly, such an amazing album.
Some amazing stuff, some meh stuff, mix it all together and you get a pretty good album with some nice moments between James and yachty. James steals the show honestly, and yachty’s just kinda there. Don’t get me wrong, he has some really nice moments too, but nothing comparable to James. Overall worth a listen, just a tad bit disappointing.
Bro. Brooooooo. That last fucking song. Holy crap, it felt like I was being ascended straight up into the cosmos. The lyrics hit me so hard, and that ending with the trumpets, it’s all so crazy. Probably one of the best endings to an album ever, and that’s not even mentioning the other incredible songs here. Truly, an unforgettable experience.
Donny boy, please oh please can we shake things up a bit?
Like yeah, none of the songs are “bad” per se, but god does this start to drag at the end. 16 songs of this style for almost an hour really drains a dude. There are some hard hitters for sure, and they definitely bring up the score, but most of these songs sit in the range of passively good. Like a lukewarm 6. My guy, spice it up a bit!!!!! Please!!!!
