Hopelessness can drown you so easily, all it takes is time.
When nothing changes for years on end, you start to feel it.
What can you do to not lose hope?
What can you do to keep fighting for the people who need you?
How can you keep pushing forward if everything is pushing you back?
All you can do is persist.
Keep standing and not take the easy way out.
Giving up isn’t an option, so just keep on moving.
Even if you don’t make a dent, at least you’re still standing, still ... read more
not bad at all tbh
definitely not amazing or anything like that, but it's solid enough to keep me invested the whole way through at least. Some pretty nice songs, some meh ones, but nothing too bad. If he keeps up this sound on his next album but takes it even further, he could have a real gem on his hands.
AHHHHH!!!!! THIS IS SO PEAK!!!!!!!
Xiu xiu, how do you continue to be this amazing so far into your career? Is it dark magic? Cuz at this point that might be the only option. This album is incredible, it’s so well made I can’t even describe it. I love all forms xiu xiu takes, but they’re at their best when they take influence from pop and rock. This album is a clear example of that, in no way does this falter at any points. It’s just straight bangers the whole way ... read more
I’m definitely voting yes, fym ππππ
Brodie made one of the best instrumental albums I’ve ever heard, then decided to say fuck it and turn into pure ass ππ
Ew, AI.
Still, musics good, gotta be honest.
I’m a voidz fan, let’s get one thing clear here. I’ve loved them for a long ass time, they’re one of the first bands to actually get me into the music scene. But even with that, I can clearly see how people won’t like this album. I’m not even gonna try to convince you that this is your cup of tea, or that it’s worth your time. This is for fans, and even then, some still might not love it. All I can really ... read more
How do you continue to evolve if you’ve hit the ceiling of your ability? Well it’s simple really, cuz there is no ceiling. There is no roof of completion. There is no limit to talent. All it comes down to, is you.
I didn’t love foxing’s last projects, if I’m being honest. They just didn’t grip me in any meaningful way, everything just felt so distant and meaningless. So imagine my shock when they come out with a contender for aoty, completely smashing my ... read more
I definitely get why this is getting mixed opinions, but for me personally I liked it a lot. Sure, you can definitely tell that this is toro y moi’s first outing into these new genres, but even so I think he makes it work decently well. Some of it is underbaked and needed a bit more work, but most of it was pretty great for me. I liked when it got a bit more lively and intense with songs like HOV, or when he interpolated broken social scene on Heaven. I know that this project isn’t ... read more
Y’all are gonna underrate her shit again sadly, but this is definitely one of her best songs, if not best period.
I respect the amount of heart that went into this, cuz it’s obvious that it’s a passion project. There are some really great moments here, and nothing that’s outright awful.
With that being said, nothing really grips me. Nothing here is making me wanna take another listen and really dig in. Most of it is middle of the road and bleh, with only a few spots of greatness. It’s definitely emanny’s best project, but it’s still missing something.
This is his best album, hands down. The most creative, most well thought out, most captivating, and most enjoyable. I like his other projects, but they don’t reach the heights that “Figure 8” does. When you have several of your best songs all in one album, it does a lot to bolster its enjoyability. From Don't make a sound to Son of sam, it all clicks together in just the right way. This is a project crafted with nothing but love, and it’s clearly evident. From the ... read more
Welcome back to another episode of:
Host doesn’t like a classic record as much as every single other person ever :p
Meh. It’s good, but in a meh way. Like yeah her voice is beautiful, and there’s a couple tracks I really like, but as a whole I’m just not sold on it. After a bit it all just kinda blends together, and nothing really sticks with me. It’s not as if I can give this a low score though, cuz I really do enjoy it, but it’s just the bare minimum of ... read more
5 listens later, still have no idea what the hell this is.
This is like, a 6 sided shape with 7 lines. It doesn’t make sense at all. Things cut out, re-shape, completely disappear, and grow, all on the same song. And that applies to all of em. But somehow in the end, it all just works really well. It’s a whole thing on its own, and even if I can’t explain it at all, it’s still amazing. Definitely a highlight for the year.

One of my favorite albums of all time, no doubt. Timeless, heartfelt, catchy, beautiful, it just has it all man.
2024, the year that keeps on giving.
So y’know how on their last album, fontaines kinda embraced more of an indie rock/shoegaze spin of their punk sound? Well they cranked it up to 11 on this one. These songs are their catchiest ever, because of that heavier lean. All these songs have amazing atmospheres and driving melodies that can catch anyone’s ... read more
