Imma listen to some Memphis Rap because I heard some.. interesting things about it and yeah.
Phonk is probably one of the corniest genres nowadays but the elements of it here work really well, and Memphis is where it came from. Nowadays it sounds horrible, but back when it was just a subgenre of Hip Hop it was actually enjoyable. Okay, maybe I don't have any more examples of it being really good apart from this, but who cares, I believe there are more albums like this who use Phonk elements and all that stuff.
These are kind of the early stages of Cloud Rap, so it's safe to say this was somewhat special for the time it was made. It does kind of sound like it was made in the 2020s, or atleast late 2010s, but it hardly sounds like something made in 2012. It's still kind of unique to this day.
Most of the songs are pretty cool, they're chill (most of them), I thought they would be the exact opposite of that, mainly because of the cover making it sound like it's going to be loud as hell, but no, the production is pretty calm, obviously because of the chopped sound and stuff.
I like his performance, the flow is pretty smooth and I guess the lyricism can be a bit questionable at times, but it's mostly pretty good.
Chris Travis isn't an artist I'm very familiar with, so I didn't really know what to expect, but the outcome was pretty good, I got what I wanted, but more than I expected.

Fav. Track - 80 Dime Bvgs (Boomin' Like Alicia Kxy$)
