I understand and respect her artistic choice for this light-hearted mixtape after opening up about an abusive relationship with her former partner, but the result is mixed at best. Not feeling right when hearing Charli's eponymous-era vocal chops, which I'd never been a fan of—twigs chose a more poppy sound this time, which on paper should result in an accessible, memorable, and fun experience, but this was unfortunately not the case. Little to none hooks for a pop album, with basic trap, basic drill and basic XCX-esque glitch. Basically just ineffective. The girl-talk interludes didn't really do anything, either. Only enjoyable parts are the musically simpler tracks where she took the auto-tunes and exhibit her vocal talent.
